Its not even the chin that bothers me its him looking like hes laid out on a coffin everytime hes KOed exept for the Alexander KO when he flat on his face having some sort of seizure.
Well, look at his standup stance. He's literally leaning his chin over his feet. He's off balance and his chin is loose even before his opponent swings.
Forrest's isn't that great either, he got ktfo in is guard by rashad and ko'd by Silva by a backpeddling pawing jab.
kens chin used to be pretty good. sakuraba, frye, tito and kimo all nailed him and even though he went down at times he still tried to keep fighting.
I don't know if it's fair to say that Arlovski is glass chinned. He wasn't, at least to my knowledge, considered glass chinned before his losses to Fedor and Rogers, and I don't really see why getting KO'ed by those guys makes him glass chinned. Both are very heavy punchers, and could conceivably spark anyone in the division, if given the right opening. The way I see it, Arlovski just fights recklessly, and therefore exposes himself unnecessarily against dangerous opponents.
Kinda laughable how some people are saying Kimbo. They are basing it on one single fight with Petruzelli. Not a fanboy of Kimbo, buts its kinda hard to rate a fighter based on one fight (plus his youtube fight with Gannon showed a different story). I agree Arlovski is kinda chinny though and hes had enough fights to prove that... But then again, as Weber pointed out, he alows himself to be hit flush quite often...
Probablly not the best arguement my freind. Sakuraba, Frye, Tito and Kimo arent exactly world class punchers. Ken kept fighting but that just means hes a warrior. Thomas Hearns chin wasnt exactly granite but he would always keep fighting.
im not saying the guy is george chuvalo im just saying that calling him the worst chin in mma is a bit harsh.
Excellent point, he would be one of the better strikers at 170 if he didn't fall down in a strong breeze.
I think every fighters chin is pretty much even and all are susceptible to ko - every fighter at one stage or another has been clipped and did the chicken dance - some fighters can cope better with being hit than others. case in point - Hunt, Fujita - has this stopped them being ko'd, no. I think it has significantly mtoe to do with the positions fighters leave themselves open to - even a massive leg kick by cro cop isnt enough to put a fighter out if it dosnt hit the right spot - yet a phantom punch like petruzelli against kimbo was enough to put him to sleep.
