Having seen the quite frankly pathetic performance of Bermane Stiverne last night I was thinking, who is the worst contender to compete for a legit world title this decade? Can anyone hold a candle to not fought for two years and that was a razor close win again a journeyman, out of shape 39, wasn't great to begin with and was suffering a serious illness the first time around Stiverne? Answers on a postcard please.
I'm not even blaming Stiverne for being put in that position. WBC are the pieces of corrupt shitheads in this entire title reign. They make Goldenboy look like a legit organization.
Performance?? He looked as though he was standing in a queue waiting for a bus...at least he has a few $$$...fair play to him, just the Joe's tha have been suckered in for another Wilder blowout...& boy do they stink!
What's also amusing about this whole episode is the fact Wilder got caught with weed in his car, and yet has never tested positive for the banned substance himself, not even a trace. That shows what a mockery these failed drug tests are.
I was thinking Pianeta before opening this thread, but then reminded myself what happened last night. Pianeta > 39YO untrained, unmotivated shot to crap Stiverne.
Never mind contenders, just in the last few years you could say that we’ve had 2 of the worst boxers that can claim to have won an heavyweight world title in Charles Martin and Bermane Stiverne.
There have been many guys that weren't great that were contenders for world titles. At least in Charles Martin & Bermane Stiverne case nobody actually ever considered them great even though they actually won world titles. But we've had guys like Audley Harrison, David Price, Robert Helenius, Manuel Charr hyped as great fighters...lol....keep in mind these guys never won world titles either. What it boils down to was the Klitschko brothers era was one of the worst eras ever seen in sports. Thankfully that era has past. Now we have a new era with Joshua, Wilder, Parker, Joe Joyce and many more exciting, talented fighters coming up.
Weed can get out of your system in like 6 weeks. That story happened a long time ago. But hey, were throwing dagger at Wilder right? What else we got? I heard he didn’t brush his teeth in the 5th grade!
