The Audley Harrison effort against Haye is what comes to mind. i cannot imagine the promoter walking to the dressing room after the bout and handing either Harrison or Stiverne a big check.
He never brushed his teeth in the 5th grade because he was protecting his glass jaw. His head teacher went on record to validate that, even his PE teacher come out and said 's prone to being a bully, who beat up smaller, over-matched people to brag to his friends.
Micheal Dokes against Bowe, Ali against Holmes, Rahman against Povetkin, What the Heck Beck and Peter Okhello in their title challenges. All were probably worse, especially Rahman. Stiverne was pretty good during the first fight though.
He also dropped Patterson in the second round. That guy is really clutching at straws to a) have to go THAT far back to find a worse contender and B) then fail to provide a credible example.
Rahman didn't fight for a full title against Povetkin. It was that BS regular title we see flapping in the wind now for the geezers and never was' to fight over. And the others weren't within the last 10 years so the answer to the original question seems to be that Stiverne is the worst contender of the last decade.
Mormeck hadn't fought in over two years when he came back as a 40 year old to lose to Klitschko. That fight was for all the belts...
Good thing you have no credibility here due to your failure to comprehend the question this thread is asking. What part of 'this decade' would you like help with? That and I most people would agree a Olympic gold medalist pro debutant would have put up a far better show than Stiverne last night. Yoka, Joyce and whole bunch of other am's who have turned pro would have been more of a threat than the version of Stiverne we got.
Yup , that fight was just as bad if not worse. And it was a hand picked voluntary and WK took 4 rounds to end it.
Wilder doesn't have a real title either. He won that belt after Wlad was stripped for whatever reason. Fury and Joshua have a much more legitimate claim.
Vitali dropped that belt when he declined to fight Stiverne. Then Stiverne was ordered to fight Arreola for the vacant title. Wilder won his WBC belt the same way Lennox Lewis won his.
I think Audley is still worse, as Stiverne can still be viewed as a 39 year old hasbeen (no matter how he won that belt), while Audley was a 39 year old never was.
