Any boxers ever passed out or died from massive blood lose?

 

Marciano vs Charles 2 Marciano's nose was split open pretty bad and stood a good chance of getting stopped.

 

His nose was almost split in two from what I remember of that one.

 

there has been alot but recently michael katsidis was pretty bad

 

The worst examples probably took place before there were cameras to document the damage.

When Barbados Joe Walcott challenged Kid Lavigne for the lightweight title he literal riped the kids ear loose from the side of his head. It first sweled up to the size of a tomatoe and then Walcott brought his laces across it bursting it open and spraying the ring with claret.

Observers at ringside thought the ear had been severed.

 

Marciano's cornermen put the swab in the nose to stop the bleeding, and it popped out the other end, as the story goes...

The worse cut I saw was Jorge Vaca's after the headbutt incident when he took Honeyghan's '0'.

 

Jeffries after the second Fitzsimmons fight was said to be virtualy unrecognisable.

Took him a long time to recover.

 

Think Fitz shook/hurt Jeffries, and he just toughed through it...?
