I actually didnt think the Pac gloves excuse was that bad, in the rematch he got the gloves he wanted and he did what he promised to do, stopped the guy Bad excuses well Clottey claiming a broken hand vs Margarito and then it turned out it wasnt broken to me there are legit and illegit excuses in the fight game if a guy suffers a real injury in the ring that would prevent a good performance then that is acceptable Like if a fighter loses claims he broke his hand early then later on its proved by X rays he was right that would be a worthy excuse cause in a big time fight a broken hand before the 5th or 6th round would make it hard to put rounds in the bank on the other hand crazy wild excuses or minor injuries like Hayes toe are just dumb
Except Tyson actually won that fight. Vitali claiming there was a foreign substance on Byrd's gloves that wasn't letting him see was pretty weak. That said, I legitimately think he retired because of the shoulder and wasn't using it as an excuse. Worst excuse ever was when Vic Darchinyan was knocked out cold, then claimed that he was robbed because he was never hurt and the referee had no business stopping the fight.
Morales I was pretty bad....the blood excuse, the socks excuse, and the gloves excuse. Goodness atsch
"He had plaster in his gloves... " - Margarito victims. (Horrible excuse invented by HBO) ^Yet nobody gave 2 spits when Shane was juiced to the gills Vs. Margo. Or the catchweight fights Tony had to shrink to make just sayin'.
I remember Bobby Czyz quit against Holyfield, and said something about his back hurting. Then threw in something about how he couldn't see and insinuated Holyfield did something to him. It was just kind of sad because usually fighters make up their excuse and stick to it. The Haye excuse was the worst. I remember reading that Michael Olajide was uncomfortable with his trunks in the Barkley fight. LOL
I agree, and pretty much the countless number of excuses people have made about Tyson losing to Douglas in the last 22 years, lol :smoke
Ahem.... http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=155530 Only Roy Jones' excuse comes remotely close.
By the way, after Pacquiao loses tonight, I do not want to hear any of these excuses. Just so you know, if Pacquiao wins, I'll be the first one to admit I was wrong.
Vinny Paz claiming that he drank too much coffee in the lead-up to the RJJ fight and lost because he was coming down from the caffeine high.
