is THIS the worst excuse ever or what???
When has a mega fight ever broken down coz one of the guys wants a tune up just 8 weeks before the main event?!??

knowing full well that HAYE will not have time for a tune up himself. sky is busy in april. so earliest is may/june. so haye would have 6 weeks in between fights to get ready for wlad...interesting...:huh

yet somehow its haye's fault right???

dont forget the reason wlad will be so inactive, is coz he doesnt want to fight in the uk which would have made a may/june date available.

    so basically;

    1. Wlad INSISTS on fighting in germany....yet cant get a date in germany other than july 2nd.....
    2. as a result of this, it means he will have to be inactive for 9 months (which he did between chagaev and chambers)
    3. then says il have a tune up april 30th, putting the 2nd july date at risk AND knowing full well haye wont have time for a tune up.

    very fair wladimir :good

Here is the deal fella , chances of Haye getting beat by chag 50/50 chances of Chrisora beating wlad 0% so haye is mad that he has to put his big payday with Wlad in jep. , Wlad should call the shots he didnt talk his way up.. haye is just mad about that right now , after he beats chag. and he prob will ,, he'll come around.:yep

    Solid,

    1. The July 2nd date is what works well for both RTL and Sky. It's in both Wladimir's and Haye's best interests that the fight takes place on a date that will generate the most views from both TV stations. This date is the 2nd of July. Remember, it's a complete 50/50 split of earnings from everywhere.

    2. The inactivity between Chagaev and Chambers was not voluntary. The continued failed negotiations between them and Haye, is what prevented him from being as active as he wanted.

    3. Haye is fully welcome to have a tune-up of his own in May – only weeks after Wladimir has his. The problem, however, is that this scuppers Haye’s shitty retirement plans in October. Haye has given himself only two fights before this deadline, and he wants both of these to be big-earners. He doesn’t want one of them to be a tune-up, because a tune-up means less money. A July date for Wladimir and a winter date for Vitali is what he wants, and he’s expecting both the Klitschko brothers to work to his timetable.

What the **** are you talking about do you even know what the word "excuse" means? The tune up is Haye's excuse for declining the fight not Wlad's excuse for anything.

i see what your saying rico.

but on point 3, its not really fair for haye to have a tune up in may, 6 weeks before the actual fight? i mean 8 weeks is bad enough but 5/6 weeks between fights really is pushing it?

The guy starting the topic makes very sensible and eloquent points. You on the other hand don't know what the **** it is your talking about.

Who is 14-0 Dereck Chisora? Why fight him for Peanuts and risk the biggest payday of your career. Wlad's either an idiot or scared and I haven't decide which it is, maybe its both.

Of course. But they then have the full freedom to stage a Wladimir-Haye fight in August or September. This will leave ample time for both men to prepare and train for. Wladimir will be more than happy with this, but Haye probably won't. Why? Because it minimises his earnings before retirement.

I can't see sky putting two David Haye PPVs in the space of 1.5 months

yea true say. but really if you were in haye's shoes would you not do the same? If hes given himself until october 2011 to retire (hes had those plans for a long time now) and wants wlad then vitali, this whole thing kind of throws the spanner in the works?

I mean as boxing fans. PURELY as boxing fans, we want to see haye vs wlad then if haye wins, haye ve vitali right? And basically the reason this is wrecked now is coz of derek chisora. which is sad!

If I was Haye and I had the October 2011 retirement-plan in place, I wouldn’t have been a dickhead by completely wasting the whole of 2010, and leaving the Klitschko bouts right up until the last minute. To compensate for my nonsense since joining the heavyweight scene, the very least I would do is push my retirement plan back a few months, and give the Wladimir and Vitali fights I promised everyone. That’s what I’d do, because that's what the boxing fans want.

I'm sorry, Solid, but your boy Haye hasn't helped the cause one bit.

Just playing Devil's advocate here but if Haye wants a tuneup himself, he could just fight on skysports 1 and screw the ppv money, it's not as though he'd starve because of it.
