And considering Pascal's gameplan against Dawson was near perfect, his performance against Hopkins and his lack of a proper gameplan was quite shameful. There wasn't really a gameplan on how to beat Dawson, yet Calzaghe and Taylor has shown what is necessary to beat Hopkins, and still Pascal looked like a man without a clue in there. Although, in the early rounds he was winning the rounds, his atrocious stamina kept his workrate at an absymal level and let Hopkins win easy rounds.

 

Floyd isnt fast anymore his mechanics are perfect a-b in shortest ammount of time, excellent timing and everybody tried to fight him like castillo did nobody won he likes that blueprint to beat him, he makes 147 fighters his slaves

it was a the wrong gameplan because shane was too old at that point to box with Floyd. he should have been ripping combinations to the body and using his strength. If I was in the corner that I night I wouldn't be telling shane to jab i would have been telling him to to rip hooks to floyd's body with bad intentions. Floyd was actually coming forward that nioght and making himself a much more hittable target then usual. Shane should have to took advantage of that, but he just stayed on the outside and tried to out-potshot Floyd. In the late rounds, he finally started letting some body punches go and he had sucess. He should have been doing that from round 1. You just said shane is an athletic brawler, but he was trying to be a boxer/counter puncher that night. He was too old to do that with Floyd, and Richardson should have known better. Part of being a good trainer is recognizing your own fighters weaknesess and adapting to his style.

 

I think Dirrell won that fight against Froch. He did everything necessary to win that fight and Andre did. I like Carl he's one of my favorite Euro fighters but the sweet science dominated Carl Froch and he was the beneficiary of Euro judges who don't even know what the sweet science is. Black american fight styles are way too sophisticated and elusive for euro judges to interpret. Just look at film of guys like Henry armstrong or Ray Robinson. If thoses guys had Euro judges in most of there bouts their records would all be much different.

I disagree on the 1st fight Floyds bad rottator cuff that had surgery after and his busted up hand was what kept Floyd from being 100% in the 1st fight against JLC II. The most could give JLC I is a draw in fight 1. I scored it 3x's. 6-6 2xs's & 7-5 Floyd. if you slow the tape you'll see the facial shots JLC took from Floyd when you thought he was pounding Floyd on the ropes. a lot of the exchanges that JLC initiated on the ropes gave him more facial punishment than it did Floyd up or downstairs. I don't understand your opinion of the 2nd fight because Floyd dominated all but 3 rounds.

Leave George out of that, he had no blame in it. Duva as usual took charge and tried to overshadow Benton who is by nature a very shy and introvert person. That idiot Duva always came out of his lane and gave the wrong instructions. The worst part was when denied he'd ever told Meldrick what was clearly there on tape.

When you're winning the fight and you have blisters on your feet, against one of the killers of you're era...would better be ultra cautious. De la Hoya gets to much of a bad rap for those last 3 rounds.

 

Duva ****ed up with Taylor in critical moments both during fights and picking fights.

Duva also most likely decided to cash-out on Taylor by putting him in there with Terry Norris in 1992, after Taylor clearly had looked shaky against Brown.

That was a stupid complain aswell. He wasn't slick or sophisticated at all, and I'm one who hates the term 'running' by people who can't appreciate lateral movement and elusiveness through footwork, but he was basically running. He continued to circle at a pace with his hands raised with no attempt to actually counter anything Froch was doing.

And then complained everytime he got hit inside on the side of the head, when he was the one clinching and forcing Froch to try and arch his punches around inside, and then dropping to the floor to duck incoming punches. He fought like an absolute clown that night.
