    That was shocking, what made me cringe, was when interviewed after, not directly after the fight, I mean when the dust had settled, he seemed to be responding to why he did'nt fight a more aggressive type of fight, and he said something along the lines of, that's not my game, im a Boxer puncher, something like that anyway, now it made me cringe because I thought to myself, does it matter what your style is ? fighters adapt and change their style to suit the opponent all the while, that's part of what makes a good or great fighter, thier ability to adapt.

    The actual gameplan Nazim formulated was to hit Floyd with some good shots. (i.e. the second round) Then he was supposed to hang back and box while Floyd tried to brawl. He tried a little bit, but Nazim underestimated how good Floyd was at coming forward. You could see Shane trying multiple different things in that fight, but Floyd shut down everything Shane and Nazim had to offer. It was a good gameplan, but nobody expected Floyd to be able to walk Shane down like he did.

    Dont know if you can call it a bad game plan, but something I seem to remember from watching the Ali-Spinks fights.


    In the first fight Spinks was trying to apply pressure and was not really too concerned about defense, which kind of helped him close distance fast and close Ali down quicker, now he was probably aided by Ali's willingness to languish on the ropes but he also played a part in keeping him there with that type of pressure, only in the rematch, I felt they (his trainers)tried too much to improve Spinks, and that, that might of effected his game plan, as in the rematch Spinks was trying to move his head and not get his as much as he rolled foward, only I felt him playing defense more as he came foward, gave Ali more time and space to get off and move, and made it harder for Spinks to pin him down cause he wasn't applying as much pressure, although I also think Ali made a more conscious effort to move more.

    Hearns had little choice. Hagler was all over him. Hearns did try to get some distance midway through the first round, but Hagler cut off the ring on him.

    Hearns really got more into a box and move mode in the 2nd, but Hagler kept cutting off the ring on him and getting him on the ropes.

    Likewise, Duran was all over Leonard, and Leonard normally fought in a flat-footed, fairly aggressive manner anyway. Duran was simply getting his ass kicked against Hearns, it wasn't a matter of game plans. It was a terrible, terrible style matchup for Roberto.
