That's why I am saying, Single Issue Poster, that Marquez had no business being in the ring with Floyd. Marquez is a counterpuncher who cannot handle movers. Floyd, especially at the weight Floyd came in at, was the worst possible matchup for him. Floyd would beat the breaks off Marquez 10 times out of 10.

Wlad against Fury is deserving of a mention though and as far as out of the ring game plans go Riddick Bowe throwing his belt in the bin rather than face Lewis has to be the one of the biggest single career missteps I've ever seen a fighter make.

 

This notion that Marquez cant handle movers is bull.
The consensus is he beat Chris John and Freddie Norwood and we're talking about a 40 year old passed his prime who lost a close decision Tim Bradley in a fight many thought he won.

Try watching the 3rd Pacquiao fight where Pacquiao tried to fight Marquez like he had done Oscar Delahoya, by waiting and moving on him. The result was that Marquez boxed the pants off a Pacquiao who was moving on him
At the very least he's held his own against every mover he's ever faced except Mayweather.

The result in the Mayweather fight isn't subjected to one factor, it is subjected to all factors stacked against Marquez.
.......height, reach, weight, quickness, speed, strenghth.........Some Mayweather opponents go into it with something as an advantage, Delahoya had height, reach, size, punching power.
Pacquiao had speed of hands and feet. Canelo had mass and strenghth.
You cant name even one physical advantage Marquez had over Mayweather, not a one.
Those factors are what got Marquez beat against Mayweather, not that he moved.

What about Hitman Hearns against Hagler,watched it again the other day and it's mental how brutal that fight is like they trying to kill each other,given his height and reach I'm sure he would of wanted to use that advantage but I guess Hagler just dragged him into a war.

Frampton in the rematch against Cruz was a bit silly,after his win in the first one he seemed to want to try a knock Cruz out,Cruz adjusted and clearly won

I don't know how much he chose and how much him getting caught early and fighting dazed had to do with it.

that said he did his well from round 3 til the 12th when he got caught again

outside a late scare in round 6 Bradley started to dominate, roach even threatened to stop it
