I was watching the late, great Arturo Gatti in his fight with Mayweather earlier and he didnt have much of a chance to beat Mayweather, but he took away his best chance which was to take the fight to Floyd and make it ugly. McGirt had actually wanted Arturo to out-think Mayweather and out maneuver him, which would never happen. gatti wouldnt have like won no matter what, but it didnt help that he had a horrible gameplan. One of the worst gameplans Ive seen. Any others?
I am not too impressed with Marvin Hagler's gameplan against Ray Leonard. He showed him too much respect and deigned to box mainly from an orthodox stance even though much of his successes were when he went lefty. I have often wondered how the fight would have gone if Marvin boxed as a southpaw and showed more malice and urgency.
foreman vs ali hatton vs pac leonard vs duran 1 abraham vs froch oscar vs tito in the final rounds mosley vs floyd
It was the second time that i know of, where Ray got lucky. First was when Hearns ran out of steam and then Hagler tried to just box him, giving up the rounds.
Chris Byrd vs Ibeabuchi: Byrd basically thought he could trade a bit with Ibeabuchi. Byrd again 7 years later when he thought the same about Wladimir Klitschko. It's more of a state of mind thing but it translated into his game plan.
Audley Harrison v David Haye "Looking to take him into the later rounds" For the rest of his life he will know that he had a shot at heavyweight glory, and didn't throw a left hand.....
Double the ****ing jab! Hopkins vs. Calzaghe and taylor - 2 guys who he really beat but didn't beat up enough for the judges hatton vs pacquiao mosley vs mayweather alexander vs bradley alexander vs kotelnik sure i left out some
Chavez vs Taylor. Taylor fought great, but the avice in the 12th round killed the gameplan. He was told that he needed the round when he should just outbox chavez and win the fight. It was his trainers fault.
Six foot 5 inch southpaw and he didnt even pump out the jab, how was he going to take a pucher like Haye into the late rounds by letting him walk staight into range and punch ! I still to this day dont know what the **** Hatton was playing at running head first into Pacquiao like a madman the way he did, I know most people on this forum hate Hatton but he could have made a far better crack at Manny than that, absolute Kamakaze tactics !
