Ricky Hatton was undisputed light welterweight champion at one time Any fighter that has held a belt or has challenged for usually can be called elite. Were not talking about ATG fighters, but fighters that are within the Top 10 of their weight class
jermain taylor swatting the bug off his forehead every 5-10 seconds...and then shooting his load way too early like virgin at the senior prom and being unable to finish a fight strong. carl froch...god love him...is a walking example of what not to do in the ring. but he's tough and resiliant enough to get away with it. what make him fun to watch too (dirrell fight not withstanding)
Mosley bounces on his toes before throwing a left or right hook. Angulo bounces on his toes twice after taking a nice shot to the dome. Marquez squares up when he's throwing combinations. Pac drops his right hand from his face when he throws his straight left. Hatton leaves his hand right by his waist before coming in with his left hook. Paul Williams flings his jab and has nothing but mostly arm punches, he also over extends his straight left and leaves himself WIDE open. Bradley squares up when he flurries. B-Hop has a habit of fighting past his prime fighting age...it'll catch up eventually. Gamboa gets out of danger with his hands down. Pac used to do this, but was quickly adjusted after the second Marquez fight. DeLaHoya always gives up his height. Tito never took advantage of reach...fought very compact. Floyd leaves the left side of his face completely open with he throws a straight right hand. He also backs up in straight lines most of the time. There's a few more I can't think of...right away.
What you are basically saying is no fighter is flawless and can't be. All this is nit-picking. Half of these aren't even habits, they are just trade-offs for a decision a fighter makes. He can always be somewhat vulnerable to something, especially when doing something.
Don't forget Maravilla at 20 and 28 seconds.... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qZX83lf3vvM[/ame] I fell in love with his fighting style, but would someone please tell me what in the hell is that ni99a doin with his arms? Not only does he hold them below his waists, but he also punches toward the ground right before he starts punching.
Jermain Taylor's footwork. Pacquiao's tendency to throw punches with one or no feet on the canvas. Darchinyan's "crab" posture.
Habit - 7 a : a behavior pattern acquired by frequent repetition or physiologic exposure that shows itself in regularity or increased facility of performance Trust me...these are habits. Like Freddy says...he looks for habits...not weaknesses. These are habits. Habits that can be exploited if properly trained to do so.
