    Ruiz.
I don't see any other legit HW losing to Roy Jones at HW. Martin would destroy HW Jones for me.

I think I'll go with somebody like Tommy Burns, Braddock or Charles Martin.

Modern heavyweights would mow them down like grass.

Buster Douglas was the Undisputed Champion who beat undefeated Tyson in spectacular fashion.

In what universe does he belong on this list? :patsch

    Why not?

Roy had a lot of attributes.

Martin could have beaten Roy, but from what I've seen he looks poor.

How do you think Martin would have fared against the guys who Ruiz fought?

I couldn't see him beating the likes of Evander, even the faded version who Ruiz fought.

Martin is a fair shout here.

If we're talking about their heavyweight reign then surely Haye deserves an honourable mention?

Won against Valuev, defended against Ruiz then Audley ****ing Harrison and lost in a farcical performace against Wlad.

Ruiz shouldn't even have been the champion at the time. Lewis was stripped of the title for refusing to fight that poor journeyman and the WBA stripped LL of his belt. LL went on to fight Grant instead of Ruiz. Grant would have knocked out Jones in the 1st rd during that time.

I know you're a Jones fanboy and will state Jones' speed would give him a chance vs Grant so I'll save you typing it out for you.

In terms of overall ability, what the fighter did to get the shot, who they beat for the title and how they won it and what their title defences were like, then it is hard to think of any more uninspiring than Martin.

I think Martin will have a few more cracks at the title in the future. Potential to be a solid top ten imo after some of the older guys have retired like Pulev and Povetkin.

    Martin, Martin and Martin.

    Honorable mention to Charles Martin.

Berbick, Douglas, Ruiz etc. belong nowhere near this list and everyone who includes them shows a lack of pertinent knowledge on heavyweight history.

We all know about boxing politics.

Ruiz was far from a great HW. But he gave Evander 3 tough fights as well as some other decent guys.

I don't think that many HW's would have knocked out Roy in a single round, because I think many of them would have started out in a cautious manner.

Although a lot of HW's of Ruiz's time would have beaten Roy, I think Roy could have beaten a few guys within the top 15.

I think he was capable of beating guys like Byrd and faded versions of Evander and Tyson.

I think someone like Sanders would have been one of the worst matchups for him.
