Before Wlad took over the heavyweight division, there was a curious period where heavyweights from former Soviet states held all 4 belts simultaneously. We'll focus on the very beginning: WBA - Nikolai Valuev (started Dec. 2005) IBF - Wladimir Klitschko (started April 2006) WBO - Siarhei Liakhovich (started April 2006) WBC - Oleg Maskaev (started August 2006) Who is the worst fighter you would give better than 50-50 odds to sweep all 4 of these guys in 4 separate title fights a few months apart each? We will assume that the belts ignore mandatories to allow this to happen.
As horrible as this sounds Shannon Briggs. He beat Liakovich (barely), Valuev was beatable, Maskaevs chin could get cracked, Wlad is the issue here because Steward was working his magic to shore up Wlads defecincies. Klitchsko destroys him but Briggs has a punchers chance (a very small one). My other pick would be Toney, he could outbox Liakovich, Valuev, and Maskaev. Wlad would once again be the problem.
Sam Peter is a good one. I can see him beating Maskaev and Likhovich. He's fight with Wlad is close, when both at their absolute primes they look like it could have gone either way. And yes, he beats Valuev.
Not a bad pick. I don't know that he beats Wlad, but I would give him a chance. Tim Witherspoon and Tony Tucker might both have a chance. Really, this thread could just be boiled down to who beats Wlad.
