I have to take issue with some of your picks here.

Willard won the title, so he was obviously qualified to challenge for it.

Whatever you think of Flynn and Firpo as fighters, they both had verry good credentials to challenge for the title at the time.

Musto was a spoiler with some good winsd on his resume. Many people saw him as a high risk low reward title challenger.

Carpintier held a peice of the heavyweight title.

It is hard to see how any of these guys could be regarded as poor choices of title opponents, let alone among the worst.

Obviously, I would be more confident about some of these picks than others.

I would expect Firpo to beat Flynn, because this would basicaly come down to a slug fest, and Flynn would not be able to out slug Firpo.

Willard was a class above Paycheck and would be able to employ his physical advantages to break him down.

Tony Musto actualy beat some prety good fighters, and while Miske was dangerous even with brights diseasr, I fancy that Musto would be awkward enough to take this version.

Carpintier would be far too much for Rademacher to handel in his pro debut.

My least confident pick is Musto to beat Miske, and my most confident is Carpintier to beat Rademacher.

Where's my man, Tony Ross? Some considered his bout versus Johnson to be for the title. And by all accounts he was horrible.

I guess that Willard would probably win the tournament.

Given that the modern half will likley be more deserving of their places in the tournament, I still like his chances.

Ross, Kaufman, Brennan, HENNEY, Roper, Barone, Beshore, Jim Johnson, Cockell, Valentino, London, Burman and Braddock were all pretty poor challengers too-I can see your 8 whipping the worst 8 of mine!

Can anybody who would have been considerd a top 10 challenger at the time they fought for the title seriously be considered one of the worst title challengers of all time or even their own time?

Say what you will about Braddock's fighting abilty, he did earn his title shot.

I dont think Jess Willard should make the list, or George for that matter.
