    That was awful!

    What was the ref doing?

Ike Williams-Beau Jack was terrible, as was Pernell Whitaker-Diobleys Hurtado

Chavez vs Taylor . 2 seconds
Referee Steele ignored the flashing red light in the corner signalling
there was less than 10 seconds in the fight. Taylor later called his
book Two seconds from Glory .

I agree. It was a late stoppage.

Ray Mercer vs Tommy Morrison: Tommy took around half a dozen unnecessary shots. Good thing he was fine afterwards.

I disagree the referees responsibility is to the fighters, he isn't a timekeeper.

This one is a great example of a crap ref. Mercer was just punching away and morrison was out. You could see that plainly, the ref was just faffing about..

Taylor in his book said " it was snatched away from him"
That's what's great about boxing as this fight ending will always
be open to debate and this fight and its ending will always be
remembered as one of boxing's legendary infamous fights.

I'd say at least three punches he shouldn't have taken.

WTF was the ref tapping the guy on the back.

    "hey buddy, you OK?"

I believe some one has late stoppage and early stoppage confused.
