Davey Moore has to be mentioned. He fought Duran in his 13th pro fight, and Duran ruined him.

Yes, but up until the last year he was probably one of the best managed fighters ever - Euro amateaur champion, 29 bad opponents, 4 former champs/contenders that were over the hill (Green, Thobeela) or exposed (Porras), then 4 reigning/former champs that were past their prime (Beyer, Lucas) or overrated (Siaca, Mundine) then one good, but green, contender (Andrade), then the top guy (Calzaghe at 35).

Unfortunately, they f*** up on the finishing line by throwing Kessler into the ring without sparring (due to a hand injury) because they were afraid Calzaghe would pull out of the fight if it was delayed and he just fell short because his timing was off (and they had no battle plan).

Then came the Miranda debacle... :patsch

Awesome analysis. Whether a fighter is an ATG or merely a titlist, they should ALWAYS be moved like this. Putting a fighter in with someone superior too early in their career can cause permenant damage to a fighter's body and confidence.

DLH was moved so well, he insists on taking impossible fights now to prove that he was what he wasn't doing in his prime.

A guy who was an ATG, consensus p4p, unified champ, and won multiple titles is not poorly managed.

Poorly treated, abused, used by his management, YES.

Buster Douglas, his people should have made sure that he stayed in shape after the victory over Tyson.
