Broner's corner in the Pacquiao fight. Broner was losing every round and his corner was telling him he was winning every round.

Yeah. He did well with Turner. Turner believed in him.

What about his "we are firemen" speech? He got all up in Bradley's mode, and Tim knocked the guy out next round

Total attention seeker, One who irks me is Manny Steward at times.

it must have been hard coming from Cus/Tyson and having to see the skill level drop so significantly as time went on, imagine going from Mike Tyson to Michael Moorer, that is a cringey experience in and of itself

I have never been a fan of how Atlas carries himself in the corner. He knows the cameras are on him and he seems to play to them more than truly help his fighters. Don't get me wrong, he knows boxing inside out and is a good trainer but he is also a guy that loves the attention.

The worst corner work ever was performed in the Leon Spinks corner during the second Ali fight. Georgie Benton masterminded the plan on taking Ali's title the first time around. But for the rematch, every hanger-on infiltrated the Spinks camp as an easy mark and Leon populated his corner with a bunch of these no-nothing 'friends'. It would have been fine if they were relegated to the spit bucket, but they were shouting over Benton with drivel such as "More gusto!", which is great if it was a beer commercial. But things got so bad that midway through the fight, Benton walked out.

Atlas never saw a fighter he couldnt ruin with his pseudo-psycho bull****. He wanted to be a Cus D'Amato Svengali so bad but he was just an obnoxious clown who hated boxers because they could do what he couldnt. Hes a pathetic little worm.

Normally I can’t stand Atlas and his antics, but I did get a kick out of his “firemen” speech. After awhile, I just started to laugh at his ****.

During one of Michael Grant’s fights, (maybe Dominick Guinn?), Atlas gave him some speech about self-confidence and not being held back by self-doubt. He could have done this back in the locker room, but waited until they were in the center of the ring, with all the cameras on them.

Manny Steward, politely and professionally, pointed out during an HBO broadcast how Atlas was doing things for himself and the attention.

or the fighter was failing at the task in front of them and Atlas had to get their ass in gear, I haven't seen all of the fights Atlas has cornered but Moorer was definitely letting off the gas/slacking

Agree, TA seems to be a good gym trainer, but I wouldn't want him in a corner. He doesn't give the fighter a minute to rest, he acts like a rec league coach, trying to give inspirational pep talks to a fighter who would rather rest. From what I've seen of him in videos, he does seem like a good fundamentals coach in the gym. He watches his fighter's feet and makes corrections from the feet up. Somebody posted a video a few days ago of TA teaching inside fighting, and he was telling the fighter to keep his feet shoulder width, if he moved one to move the other, to have one flat while he pivoted the other, not to get his feet too far apart, all good fundamental instructions.

TA seems to be good with fundamentals, but for whatever reason (ego, too excitable...), he doesn't seem to be good in a corner.
