Let's get one thing straight - Mikey Garcia is not a real Mexican. He wasn't born and raised there and therefore is not a genuine Mexican. He's a product of millennial, Californian snowflake culture so we cannot judge him at that standard.
(Anyone who disagrees need only ask the Great Juan Manuel Marquez what is the standard of a real Mexican. He clearly defined this during the buildup to Marquez vs. Diaz I )

Canelo vs. Floyd was a very shameful and sad performance. I'll never forget that feminine outing.

 

Spence's reach and Mikey's lack of speed meant he was on defense all night with little to no chance to get inside and work add to that Mikey fights mid to long range

 

The funniest thing about this fight was garcia had twenty people in the ring, all of them carrying one of his belts and then he fights like that. Truly embarrassing.

I was disappointed with his performance, at least in the sense that he didn't appear to have a plausible Plan B. I would have expected him to try something different and, more importantly, to have *expected* that his usual style wouldn't work. I halfway fault Robert, but ultimately I don't think it would have mattered.

He didn't look for a quick trip to the canvas and definitely showed skill just fending off Spence's attack, but no you cannot say that he went out on his shield. But I don't think he's less honorable for doing that, either. Some guys are wired differently from others.
