Worst Officiating Of A Fight????

the Benn - mcClellan fight wasnt that badly officiated. it just didnt help that the guy couldnt speak english. i know they wanted a neutral ref but one that goes une...deux...trois. didnt help. if a ref cant communicate with the fighters to keep heads up and needs to give hand gestures to them then somthings wrong. maybe by king for wantign a neutral ref.

also the knockdown throught the ropes...you are given 15 seconds to recover if i remember. you have to be up by 10 though, which benn was and then given 5 seconds to get into the ring and he was.

it was mahem in there. even after a decade you can feel the pent up stress of the fight. in mcClellens corner they were doing a terrible job. ingle said it was controlled chaos. benn was hurt in the first and maybe the 3rd but he was on top of gerald after that.

he didnt do a great job of course but if anything, seperating them might of actually helped gereld

and to put an end to this it was an accidental headbutt at the 00:30 mark. when mcClellen turned away. in these instances doubt any other refs at any level could do at least a proffesional job.

Oh yes it was!!!!!!!!!!!!! Alfred Asaro BLATANTLY INTERFERED with McClellan FINISHING Benn in round 1. He pushed off, wrestled with, and REPOSITIONED him with his breaking so as to NOT ALLOW reality 2 happen. There's no way in hell Benn survives round one without Asaro.
Interefernce that perhaps caused an ending with TRAGIC and PERMANENT effects on McClellans life. The ultimate BS:fire :fire :fire

The most recent Williams vs Airich is also a CLASSIC case of ****ed up refereeing. Ringing the Bell with 1:28 seconds left of a round in hopes of saving his fighter:yikes

 

That fight was one for the ages. Kim's death had nothing to do with the referee. One hell of a fight, marred of course with the death of Doo Koo Kim, who btw did not kill himself.

Kim collapsed after the stoppage and went into a coma. He died of head trauma that resulted from the fight.

It was actually Kim's mother who later killed herself, because of the anguish of having lost her son.
Just a tragic happening all the way around.

......and for the fighter who's fists brought about such occurence???
Mancini has never blamed himself, most boxers dont when such an occurence happens.......but what a thing to have to live with.....I once heard Mancini in an interview not that long ago, get emotional and say that not a day goes by that he does'nt think about Doo Koo Kim.

 

Mickey Vann or Dave Parris its a hard one.
Both dodgy pommy ******* refs.

 

About the worst officiating job I've ever seen, you people that are complaining about Mayweather-Hatton have got to see the 2nd Evander Holyfield-John Ruiz fight......This one involved the inept Joe Cortez also.....:-(

......Ruiz repeatedly getting into clinches with Evander.
Its bad enough that Ruiz would reach out to clinch after every punch he threw, but whats worst than that is that Ruiz would miss with the jab, clinch.....miss with the jab, clinch, repeatedly with that miss jab, clinch scenario.......
.....then Holyfield knocks Ruiz out with legit body shot and Cortez rules it a low blow.atsch

During the whole process, Cortez is acting as if the clinches are a result from both fighters, as he's warning both Holyfield and Ruiz for clinching, yet when Ruiz would bear hug Holyfield, Holyfield would stick his hands outright to the side of him to show that it was'nt he who was clinching.

Cortez was absolutely clueless as to how about to go doing his job.

The fight should have ended with a body shot KO by Holyfield.....but during this process, Cortez should have deducted points from Ruiz, and warned him that he'd get disqualified for repeated clinching and not fighting.

Out of all the John Ruiz hugfests he's had throughout his career, the 2nd Holyfield fight was by far the worst as far as repeated clinching and non-fighting.

Just an inept and terrible job once again by "I'm fair, but I'm firm"atsch

I trust the people who voted for Hatton/Mayweather have not seen the Reid/Ottke fight? That or they are complete fanboys who think that Hatton would have won if the fight were in the UK.

The Ottke fight was a complete farce. The Mayweather fight was strict but fair.

I've not seen the recent fight personally but from what I've read, the Danny Williams fight should be up there

 

Watching the Ottke fight now. "They call him the phantom cause he gets in and out without being seen.... sometimes how he wins fights is hard to see too" Rofl.

 

Who was the referee in the Reyes-Cardenas fight???

Whoever it was he was a muppet, letting Cardenas take too much punishment. Reyes had pinged Cardenas silly; I don't care if he was still on his feet, for anyone who seen the fight would tell you that there was no chance of Cardenas pulling out a result after the beating he had taken. Even when Cardenas FINALLY went down the ref let him get back up, although he was clearly gone (had been for about one and half rounds), and he took further punishment along the ropes for ten or twenty more seconds before the dicky **** in light blue dived in.

Dishonourable mentions must also go to Cardenas' corner (brave men they were) and the ringside "doctor" (I use the term loosely).

Of course that was gross stupidity/incompetence rather than anything underhanded. The "brown-envelope stuffed with cash award" actually goes to Max Tillerman of the Ottke-Reid fight, who famously warned Reid for hitting his opponent in the face with the knuckle part of the glove. Bravo Max! Bravo!?!

 

i was going to vote for this, and the saddest thing of all is that he has officiated after this fight!!!

 

There have been a lot of bad refs and terrible officiating performances in the sport of boxing, but may take the cake Jose Ignacio Martinez. This is the boob that actually helped a fighter back to his feet when he got knocked down in a fight! Check out the Braithwaite-Yoan Pablo Hernandez fight. He was doing everything he could to help Hernandez win that fight.

 

Watson Eubank two. After that vicious knockdown in the eleventh and thge beating in the first minute of the twelfth the ref really should have stopped it.

Not often a ref ensures a guy wins a fight 119-109 on my card.......

Cortez has had a few shockers lately, not just the Hatton Mayweather fight, Dave Parris in my opinion is quite good.

How someone can say Mickey Vann is a bent ref I have no idea - I always enjoy watching fights with Mickey in there, because he almost looks like he is shadow boxing whilst observing the action.
