Worst performance by HBO commentating team ever?

Agreed. I thought i might throw up listening to these clowns during the replay. Especially Jim "POW" Lampley. Kellerman was his usual dumbass self.

 

This was the one thing I was dreading in the lead up to this bout. I knew the HBO team were going to heavily biased in favour of Williams. If it had lasted longer, the commentary could have been as dreadful as the Martinez/Pavlik fight.

 

yess this is sooo true, you kinda half expect it from Larry Merchant, bt everyone else should be ashamed...but their worst performance had to be De La Hoya/Mayweather, they didn't even call the fight it was just pure critisim

 

Boxing after Dark Quote of the night.. "You gotta Bring ass to get ass..." James Toney... LMAO.... that was the best thing said all night by Max Kellerman.. yes suprisingly Manny Stewart said Williams won the first round.. I was like huh? and there was a bit of shock among those in the booth.. Manny and Bob werent even expecting that nor did they even think Martinez was capable of KO ing Williams.. To tell you the truth Showtime is kickin ass not only with thier fight schedual but in the booth.. I love Gus Johonson, Traver is a refreshingly intelligent commentator.. Al Bernstin is great as well.. Caint wait for this saturday..! I wonder who is calling the Marquez Katsitis fight for HBO... ?

 

I like the Gus and Tarver combo, but have never liked Bernstein as a commentator.

I thought that is when it started to go down. I liked it with Leonard,Tompkins and Merchant. Jones was good but Foreman was like listening to someone watching another fight. He didn't seem to understand smaller fighters and guys who didn't have power like he did.
