Arthur Mecante Jr in the cotto fights with Clottey and Judah

    Judah fight
    "We are like family here"
Family wouldnt let a fellow family member get intentionally low blow repeatedly

    Clottey fight
    "Walk it off"
    He just bloody bodyslammed him

This wins hands down every time there is a discussion on dodgy refereeing/bad decisions. I remember watching it the first time just thinking it couldn't be for real as no-one would be that blatant in their cheating. The early stoppage of the round in particular makes the Williams-Airich nonsense look positively golden in comparison...

Tyson/Savarese was pathetic. The ref stopped the fight for no friggin' reason. Lou caught a shot but his legs were still well under him. That **** was paid.

Anyone who made something of the so called bodyslam are just acting like girls. The referee did the right thing by not deducting any points, Clottey was leaning all over Cotto, and Clottey was playacting on the ground.

Jay Nady ****ed up the biggest moment of the Barrera vs Marquez fight. Should have been a 9-8 round in favor of Barrera but because of him, it ended up a 10-8 round for Marquez. :verysad It didn't matter in the end because the judges were corrupt, but still...Nady is supposed to be one of the best.

The only referees that need to be in big fights these days are named Kenny Bayless and Steve Smoger.

    Cortez - Hatton vs Mayweather

He didn't allow them to fight on the inside and ruined the fight. It could have been a real war and the first chance to see Mayweather really under pressure. I personally think Floyd would have stepped it up and possibley finished it earlier. But we'll never know. Instead he was in his comfort zone and able to pot shot all night.

I'm pretty sure you're right. It was Jay Nady's dumbass. Simply pathetic in that fight. He was breaking them up when Ruiz was trying to do inside work with Jones on the ropes. Nady was paid for sure. No ****in' question in my mind. Jones wasn't used to taking HW punches and it showed when Ruiz landed some body shots on him. Jones took the bodyshots, but he was visibly shaken a little by them. Don't get me wrong, Roy would've most certainly still have won the fight, but the ref was in on it for sure.

WTF? You can't break up a clinch before it happens on the basis that you "know what's going to happen".

Cortez was fairly awful in the first three or four rounds of Hatton v Mayweather, I really think the occassion got to him. The way he refereed the latter part of the fight was ok imo. However, it is when you compare his attitude in that fight to his refereeing in Calzaghe/Hopkins that the complete difference in the way he fails to deal with the holding in that fight is obvious.

If you think he 'did fine' in the Hatton/Mayweather fight, then the question for you is why he was doing so far from fine in the later fight.

And, of course, when you add in Soto/Lorenzo, the obvious conclusion is that Cortez is just an attention seeking reality tv star wannabe who will referee a fight in whichever way he thinks will get him the most tv face time.

I can't think of anything more blatantly bad and corrupt than Coggi-Gonzalez 1.

I've never seen Jack Welch help Ad Wolgast get off the canvas, but it's around the same level.

Except Coggi, in reality, should've lost that fight on 3 different occassions in that 2nd round.

Williams-Alrich, Ottke-Reid....this beats all of them. Disgusting.

The ref was banned for life.

See my post above. The Tyson/Savarese fight was a much worse stoppage. Tyson got a gift on that fight. I'm still pissed about it.
