Hatton pushed Mayweather through the ropes and took a shot at the back of his head when he was defenseless. That's a blatant foul. BTW holding excessively, hitting and holding and punching on the break are illegal. Cortez wasn't that bad in the fight. It's just that Hatton needed to use illegal tactics to compete against top level fighters.

You want to see bad officiating? Watch what Dave Parris did during Hatton/Tyzyu.

A couple of people have mentioned it already but the ref in Ottke-Reid was shameful. A lot has been made of the dodgy decisions the judges gave Ottke but I don't think he ever received as much help as this ref gave him. I seem to remember Reid being warned for hitting Ottke in the face (!).

The ref who scored Fury-McDermott to Fury by 8 rounds to 2 deserves a mention. Scandalous.

In both of these instances, the poor performances go past incompetance into sheer corruption.

Dave Parris deciding to stop Rogan/Sexton on the grounds that "Rogan was unable to continue" while Sexton is away with the fairies on the other side of the ring.

:think yeah that one is understandible that eye looked like it was going to pop out like sextons gumshield. but you got to wonder why the ref who is there to protect fighters is fetching the doc when the other guy is out of his feet, if rogan landed another right hand he coudl of done his job and get both men out of there.

That was ****ing disgraceful. Sexton didn't know where the **** he was when Parris stoppaged the fight..... in his favour.

Hopefully Rogan will do the job in the rematch, because Sexton was a right ***** afterwards, trying to convince everyone how well he had done to win by stoppage, when all he had done is receive a gift from the referee.

I think so - Rogan tried to box a bit too much for his own good. I think he's realised now that his strength is his strength, and that when he just tried to bull Sexton he was actually having a lot of success. As long as he fights aggressively, Sexton probably won't hold up. Should be a decent scrap either way, though.

I mostly agree, but - not that it would have made any difference - I think Parris was probably a little trigger-happy in breaking them up. I've always thought he was far too overbearing.

Richard Steele: Taylor vs. Chavez. The fight should not have been stopped!
