Jesus, there's so many........ Jeff Lacy would stop Calzaghe. Roy would stop Tarver in the rematch. Zab would beat Floyd (I looked like a genius for 5 rounds though) Chad would dominate Andre Ward.
Carlos Quintana over Cotto. I thought his movement would be too much. He was the next great P.Rican star after witnessing him shut out undefeated Joel Julio. Man, Carlos rips like tissue paper. Thought DLH was cherry picking Pac. He picked the wrong to cherry, me too. Judah over Baldomir was supposed to have been a sparring session. I still remember Judah's post-response to losing; "It's Don King's fault...I got a ****ed up promoter. I should've been training instead of all this promoting" Worst would be RJJ over JC. I felt he had enough to eke out a close potshot contest, oh-so wrong.
I thought Kelly Pavlik would be the first man to get a stoppage on Hopkins. I thought Hassim Rahman would knock Lennox Lewis out again in the rematch.
Got a list a mile long! Thought Hopkins would have won the Taylor rematch. Naz to beat Barrera was a bad one! Recentley thought Ortiz would beat Wilder.
I really was convinced hopkins was over the hill and cloud had the fire power to do it after Pascal had dropped him
Uggh! Without a doubt my two worst were Prince over Barrera and Sergio over Cotto. I still cringe thinking about those two. I also think i had Broner over Chino. Not because i thought Broner was so good but because i thought he`d be to quick on his feet for the plodding Chino who at that point i wasnt much of a fan of to be honest lol! My best prediction of all time though is without a doubt the first Tyson/Holyfield fight. I even predicted the first knockdown of the fight to the round! I called late stoppage and i nailed it. I remember being at a fight party and there were about 40 people there and only one other guy thought EH was going to win but even he thought i was nuts picking Evan Fields by ko lol!
I thought Shannon Briggs would beat Vitali Klitchko in a competitive fight. Probably one of the worst beatings I have seen in boxing.
I'm in my 40s and been watching the sport as long as I can remember, this would be long list. Some highlights: Moorer over Foreman Everybody should get a free pass on Douglas over Tyson Both of Lewis's losses I had money on Oscar over Vargas. Donaire over Walters (I was at that one)
Two shockers come to mind....hatton to beat pacman. Too big. Too strong. I think going in i thought Dela hoya was completely dead at the weight....making pacman look better than he actually was at the new weight. Gatti to beat mayweather. In my defence I,d never seen mayweather before. Had recently just found gatti at that point. Had seen his last two or three fights leading up to may weather. Think buddy mcgirt was training him...he was looking red hot going in buddy had him boxing a lot more but was pretty much against sub standard opposition. Both fights took me about a round to realize my pick was gonna be the wrong pick. Haye to beat klitchko as well. He punched so hard and wlad had that glass chin. Bit of a masterclass from klitchko tbf. Just a bit too big for him and too good at using his advantages.
Now this is not a typical one, but I always thought Valuev was kind of a circus act (no offense). I thought that Liakovich would completely make a fool of the giant. But he simply had nothing left.
