Amazing post. When reading your post Hearns somewhat poor punch resistance in the first Ray Leonard fight came to mind but then he had superb punch resistance in the hagler fight.
Suprised nobodies mentioned David Price, first time he actually gets hit clean he goes down like a sack of potatoes. Not to mention Tony Thompson was fat and out of shape. I think there's more to come from Liverpools most famous plumber.
Kevin Mitchell has a good chin on him imo,the punches he shipped from Kats and the left hook Ricky Burns hit him with would have iced most lightweights. Go and watch the Mitchell Johanssen fight its on YouTube somewhere and tell me Kevin's got a bad chin. Ricky Burns fought the same Carl Johanssen and got knocked out by him,the guy was a serious puncher at domestic level.
So what your saying his Mitchell's got a good chin at domestic level? The same things could be said about Khan regarding Prescott and Garcia. Watch the Maidana fight he couldn't even drop Khan yet went above his best weight and dropped and stopped Iron chinned Soto Karass. In reality Khan is chinny, so is Mitchell, but Khan has achieved a lot more at a higher level than Mitchell.
Put it this way Kevin Mitchell beat Breidis Prescott. Khan got knocked out in the first round by him. Do the math And by the way Khan had been floored by Steffi Bull,Willy Limond and Michael Gomez before he even got to world level so he was chinny at domestic too.
Your not the only one- he was great to watch. Victim of some of the most stupid match making i've ever seen. Your on the cusp of fighting a journeyman for the world title and they rolll out Jon Thaxton as an opponent based on the fact he had a low KO % and was coming up from lightweight. Absolutely crazy in hindsight.
Mitchell getting ktfo out by burns shows he has an awful chin. Burns is not a big puncher by any stretch of the imagination.
I used to enjoy watching Paul you just never knew what was going to happen, he couldnt half punch himself
