    Ruben Carter was never a top top fighter. Don't be fooled into thinking he was.

    He was a top contender of his day, not one of he very best but still got a title shot. That's something. But yeah, thank to this movie he is blown up to something he wasn't. And Giardello won fair and square.

    Forget the movie. Take him on his own merits, watch film of his fights and you will see he was a bloody good fighter, just smack bang in the middle of the greatest era that division has ever seen.

    I used to let that movie cloud my judgement of him and had a pretty heavy bias against him for a while.
    But he was a damn brutal boxer-puncher and I would take him over a ton of 154-160 titlists that have been around since.

    For me it is Evander´s.
    There are simply too many losses against fighters he would have killed during his best years. Valuev, Ibragimov, Ruiz..

    Not even close. If only Penalosa decided to face top fighters in early years of his career, he could have done much wonders in this sport.

    Tyson post jail. Still managed to keep his name in the mix but he didnt achieve much. waited way to long to fight lewis
