Roger Tilleman. Les Fear who oversaw Dib-Yamaguchi also warrants a mention. For those of you who haven't seen it: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Movx_5IcM2s[/ame]
Terrible. And Dibs a low life piece of **** too. I look forward to him getting in the ring with JuanMa or Gamboa so he can get his head knocked off but I doubt he'll ever get a shot at the big time again with his ***** preformance against Leuvano.
For a seasoned ref, Terry O'Connor might be up there. Some of his 'greatest hits': Calzaghe-Manfredo Fury-McDermott Williams-Skelton Williams-Sprott I Laurence Cole is probably my least favorite of the major refs right now. Worst single-night performances by seasoned refs (not including things like the Williams-Airich debacle) were probably Randy Neumann in Abraham-Miranda I and Roger Tilleman in Ottke-Reid.
Seconded. Hadn't watched this fight, even Dib's fans went "ooooooooooohhhh" when they saw the replay. First time I see a ref counting out a fighter who got caught while on his knees. ****ing disgrace for the ref and that sack of **** Dib.
Don't know about ever, but the worst I've ever seen is Dave Parriss. The manner in which he reffed the Barrera-Khan,Tzsyu-Hatton and Rogan-Sexton fights is beyond shameful and excusable.
It's only the Hatton fans that think Cortez is a bad referee. Joe Cortez is world class! I haven't seen any indignation against Dave Parris for the Kostya Tszyu fight, or any against John Foster for saving Hatton's arse against Juan " The Hispanic Causing Panic" Lazcano.
:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl Nothing to do with Hatton, haven't you seen some of his other "perfomances"?
the ref in the danny williams fight against that Konstatine (sp?) guy, holy **** worst referee EVER. i also think the ref in McClellan-Benn was pretty bad as well. edit- lol just realized it was posted by the thread starter.
Cortez used to be good but had declined as a ref well before people started complaining about Mayweather-Hatton. Ever see Hopkins-Allen 3, three and a half years before Mayweather-Hatton? Ever see him almost let Ike Quartey kill poor Carlos Bojorquez? He and Bojorquez's corner let it go on for rounds too long. Then a minute left in the fight, Cortez decides to stop the massacre.
