McClellan vs Benn - criminal refereeing . On a much lesser extent Joe Cortez in Hatton vs Mayweather and I guess Joe Cortez again in Kirk Johnson vs John Ruiz . Most of d referees in Hopkins , Tyson and Ali fights . D referee who was rightly overruled in Griffin vs Jones #1 . D referee in Marchegiano vs Cream #2 , Tua vs Moorer , Tua vs Rahman #1 , Cooney vs Norton , Johanson vs Machen , Louis vs Buddy Baer #1 , Witherspoon vs Bruno , Herol Graham vs Julian Jackson , Cooper vs Moorer , Cooper vs Holyfield , Lewis vs Grant . But nothing comes close 2 McClellan vs Benn .
This has to be the daddy of referee neglect. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ezLbrjlyTuQ&feature=player_detailpage[/ame] Machen was absolutely helpless and the ref just watched him get hammered as he was tangled in the ropes (Machen's corner wasn't much better in saving their man either). The fight should've been stopped after the second knockdown at least as Machen was clearly in no fit condition to continue. It's a miracle that Machen wasn't killed or seriously maimed and whoever the referee was he was a disgrace.
Poor old Jersey Joe had a nightmare in the Ali/Liston rematch. Mercante Snr went on too long, living on a past reputation. Some say it was his finest moment, but Mills Lane actually let Mike Tyson off biting Holyfield's ear, resulting in the second attack, that cost Holyfield ear cartilage. Lane had more than enough evidence to disqualify Tyson after the first bite, but bottled it.
Dave Parris and Mickey Vann for any Frank ****** fighter. Two oft-commented criminal ones were: Eddie Cotton (Tyson-Lewis) and Roger Tilleman (Reid-Ottke). But Armand Krief's handling of Kalambay-Graham II was laughable. Terrible decision too- Graham won clearly.
Gainer Norwood. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsuWx0oR7J4&feature=player_embedded#! Edit: No clue how to embed. Sorry Double edit: Just saw above post. Disregard me
You don't need to embed on this forum. It already has an automatic embedding thing, so long as the embedding on YT hasn't been disabled. You just copy the youtube link and post it. On other forums, you would go to the "Share" option below the video, then the "Embed" option. It would look something like this: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/EaNGSRGTqUs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Isidro Rodriguez in Juan Martin Coggi vs. Eder Gonzalez. I like Coggi, but Rodriguez totally determined the outcome of this fight- [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVzrVzAf20w[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hD91QpMH5no[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=feS5M-Swz30[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OL-3rUpP4cU[/ame]
Joey Curtis. His performance in the first Weaver-Dokes fight alone merits inclusion. For years afterward, fans would chant at fights he was reffing "Stop it Joey."
