    Ruby Goldstein - Griffith/Paret III.

Nothing else really needs to be said.

Edit: Dayum, just noticed it was posted a few posts in. LOL

Still gotta be the worst considering what happened.

He just let let him get beat to death when it was obvious that he was just being held up by the ropes.

Did Richard Steele even warn Zab Judah for combining a low blow and rabbit punch to Mayweather? A point deduction would have been generous IMO, so clearly intentional.

The first result that comes up if you google referee tony perez

    This content is protected

Some of the most savage brutal KO's ever and referee tony perez was the third-man-in-the-ring for 3 of them.

    1. Tommy Morrison vs Ray Mercer
    2. Gerry Cooney vs Ken Norton
    3. David Tua vs John Ruiz (my favorite Johnny Ruiz fight but that's beside the point... :p )

At Ali/Frazier II, ref tony perez allowed Muhammad Ali to clinch and hold onto Joe Frazier 147 different times during the 12 rd distance without taking any points.
Ali's glove was on the back of Joe's head for literally half the fight, about 13 or 14 clinches each rd by Ali. No action taken by perez. Ali clutched and held more than Johnny Ruiz that night.
Another mistake by tony perez that fight was in rd 2 when Ali staggered Frazier upon which time perez thought he heard the bell and stopped the action prematurely.

    Michael Spinks vs Mustapha Wassaja.
Mustapha was completely out on the ropes, but Spinks landed about 5 more devastating left hooks.
Where was referee tony perez ?

Alexis Arguello vs Ray Boom Boom Mancini. Another bad job by perez.
"To me, I knocked him out in the 12th rd, Boom Boom. I hit him with a right hand, and I hit him, and he turn over and he put the knee the right knee on the canvas. And in the Boxing business says when a boxer turns the back on ya, you automatically win. But the referee was tony perez, the moron. Y'know, Jesus Christ, I say 'tony, what are ya doin'? The guy turned the back on me.' The guy say, 'Alexis, keep fighting. I don't want you to ruin your victory.' I say, 'Hell, man, I knocked the guy out.' 'Keep fighting.'
The guy pushed me to keep hurting Mancini."
    - Alexis Arguello

    Muhammad Ali vs Chuck Wepner.
perez allowed Wepner to hit Ali with rabbit punches throughout the 15 rd fight.
Horrible and incompetent job of officiating.

    :lol::|

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I would not be surprised if that was someone impersonating a referee.

I've never seen a fight ended on a single bite. The usual thing to do is to take away a point or two without warning. Neither Golota nor Bentt lost points when they bit, though admittedly their bites weren't as bad as the first Tyson-Holyfield bite.

It was the fact that Mills Lane let things continue until the bell after the SECOND bite that was the wrong call in that fight.

Almost as bad was missing Judah clearly knocking Mayweather down in the second (I think it was).

The ref this past saturday night in the Khan-Peterson fight was horrendous. That was the worst for me in recent memory.

The Ref who Allowed Davey Moore to get Filleted against Roberto Duran gets no Applause, albeit Daveys Corner should of course of Acted Also.

Jack Welsh Holding up Ad Wolgast and Counting out Joe Rivers was a very naughty bit of officiating.

In Welsh's defence, there was no disputing he was Ad's personal referee, and the rules of the time allowed this too happen.

Not a series ,but two fights where the referee was absurdly ,and criminally , incompetent.

Ernesto Magana --- Duran v Moore.
    Roger Y'anez --- Garcia v Benton.
