Who was the worst referee ever, and did he do terribly wrong? Explain what it was what he was a bad referee for, like letting a man take a beating, etc.
Terry O'Connor is undisputed, undefeated p4p numero uno, el presidente the worst referee of all time. Just google the fights he's referee'd.
British refs are generally pretty bad for allowing home fighters to cheat, and stopping fights at the first opportunity. Terry O'Connor, Dave Parris and Mickey "no naughties wiv de ead" Vann are all pretty bad. Just look at some of Ricky Hattons fights during his WBU days, he could hug, wrestle, low blow and elbow to his hearts content without even a hint of warning, that's why I always laugh when people cry about the Mayweather fight, saying it wasn't fair that Cortez didn't let Hatton cheat like could in England
British referees when British hypes are involved in the fight .. I remember, when TT beat Price in the rematch and the referee counted till 10 .. 1 seconds was like 2 seconds ..
Joe Cortez (see Soto-Lorenzo, Coatzee-Snipes, etc) Ian John-Lewis (should have lost his license after Vitali-Briggs) Jack Reiss (see Kessler-Ward)
Alfred Asaro for Benn v McClellan Marlon Wright for Bute v Andradae http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARs8axyaDz0 Joe Cortez for counting when Herol Graham was knocked out by Julian Jackson and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfmFGQfFIoI
Honestly that mofo makes what was/would have been a good fight unwatchable... THROW SOME THUNDER He wasn't that bad.. but holy fcking ****. His constant biased verbal commands were bull**** and god damn annoying. 'worst' no... bad yes I give Tony Weeks alot of respect but his job with Garcia Matthysse wasn't great...Should have been on top of Garcia for them lowblows.
Russell Mora; Agbeko vs Mares was criminal and may Russell's soul burn in hell for all of eternity. Hopefully Joe Cortez will have an extra warm seat waiting for him. Great shout on Cortez; he is the most inconsistent ref I have seen. Too many instances to even begin. I'll never forget that Humberto Soto fight, where Soto got the KO but was DQed. That chapped my ass. Humberto is one of the good guys in the sport, and deserved better. I remember seeing Cortez about a month later in the MGM lobby the day before Cotto/Margo 1 and heckling Cortez all over the Casino floor about his 'work' in that fight. That piece of grease didn't have a single word to say about it.:barf Damn, what a sport this would be if we had competent and honest referees and judges.:-(
