    The way he is just able to pound away with that uppercut... Sickening!

    I remember reading somewhere that Goldstein, the referee, never blamed himself for not stopping it sooner and that he would do the same, if the fight were happening right now. Somehow made me feel even worse about the whole thing.

    Love JMM to death, but the Wheeler stoppage was a joke. Yeah, Wheeler's holding in that round once he'd been hurt was excessive, but I don't remember there being much holding - and certainly no warnings for it - beforehand. A DQ would have been harsh, but a TKO ruling? Joke.

    On the other side of the coin, most of the really gruesome late stoppages which come to mind have already been mentioned. I do remember, though, being appalled by the referee (can't remember who it was) in the Danny Garcia versus Rod Salka fight in 2014. Let Garcia have at least two or three unnecessary and totally free shots on Salka, who was hopelessly outclassed and already badly hurt, but also way too brave for his own good.
