The ref had many excuses to stop the fight on cuts but he didn't. Then when Josh appeared to look tired he became eager to stop it. He even got the doctor to check Takam cuts after the corner period as if to give a longer break before the start of the last round. When do refs do that? Isn't it more normal to get the doctor to check the cut at the end of the round then allow the corner time to work on it? There is no shame in Joshua going the distance. World boxing is all about bargaining power and maintaining Privilege. A promoter has a world champion with a 30lb advantage against a guy 37 years old with just 12 days notice...and it looks like the refs have been warned to Not take any chances anytime the house guy looks tired I believe it was important to stop a common opponent of Parker. People soon forget about the details and it goes on record as a KO. But I think it's a real shame. Joshua has lost the an opportunity to gain the psychological value of going the distance with a stubborn opponent with no quit in him. Going the championship distance for a over developed super heavyweight is a badge of honour. Josh needs these rounds.
