I think hearn rushes his fighters and puts to much pressure on them ( not ricky because he has has 40 fights, but think hearn is all about the quick money and not the career I think frank ****** protects his fighters more, I think since joining hearn burns has felt a need to perform and knock his opponents out which is just not his style and due to this has come unstuck in every fight under eddie. Would love to know billy's thoughts on last nights performance. The broken jaw finished burns!

Have a look at the difference in competition, that alone tells you why Ricky is struggling now, that's not Hearns fault, if you want to be world champ then fight the best.

Not true. It's getting the right fights at the right time. Hearn. Is very poor at matching his fighters compared to ****** who builds them well.

True, say what you will of FW but he does know how to build fighters.

Hearn hasn't gained that art yet. Hearn comes across as a guy who'd step over a pound to pick up a penny.

As mentioned there is an 'art' to matchmaking. And although you cannot directly put that blame at Hearns' door, I think he needs more people around him, with a good track record in this important department of the business.

I think Burns needed 1 if not 2 Confidence building fights not push overs good fighters but not like Zalticanin who may have been underestimated. I think Eddy does belive in Ricky As he would not put him in with someone he didnt think he could beat maybe a bit naive on hearns behalf if your not right mentally your not going to win fights like that! he looked in good shape as always i just think its a confidence issue even if its just sub-concious fear due to his Jaw injury which to be fair was nasty. He is no where near done as it were.

I know where you are coming from but FW can sometimes waste careers fighting nobodies too and selling them to the public as credible fights!! I think at times it takes the full teams efforts , Boxer, Manager, Promoter and Coach to really do things correctly and it takes a good manager/promoter to ask the coach/boxer their thoughts on opponents before accepting fights. If the coach especially had a bit more input then I think a boxers career could actually be steered in the correct way more often imo.

Talk about matchmaking all you like but Burns is a world champion and should be facing good opposition. Since Burns joined Matchroom he's faced Gonzales who proved better than people thought but Burns still got the win. Then the fights against Beltran and Crawford were both mandatories so that's nothing to do with matchmaking. The Zlaticanin was a poor match for a comeback mind, as Ricky has struggled with southpaws and this guy was a decent undefeated fighter but Ricky wanted the big fights straight away, he didn't want to drop down to 'domestic level'

    Disagree, it's not Hearns fault!
Burns as a world champion should FACE good challengers, but he got complacent and look what has happened, ruined since Beltran.

Got nothing to do with Hearn/FW/Nelson/sims, hell not even burns. Just Father Time keeping up his undefeated record

FW was trying to get Burns a fight with Vasquez. He would have lost his title then.

At least with Hearn he kept it for two additional fights (Gonzalez and Beltran) before he finally lost.

Part of me kind of likes hearns throw em in if there good enough they ll win attitude but last night was shocking matchmaking. Surely someone from matchroom must of had a good look at the opponent and seen he was a stocky powerful southpaw who comes forward throwing bombs, terrible opponent for burns at this stage of his career.

The old burns would have gritted it out and come on much stronger but I believe he's well and truly past his best his days as a top 10 in the world are long gone

How was it terrible matchmaking? If you can't beat someone like Zlaticanin how the **** do you expect to win a world title?

He got truly exposed for the fighter he is last night.

Zalticanin was rotten, one dimensional, flat footed sent punches with telegraphs. Fact Burns is so scared of being hit, and lacks any boxing brains, not Hearns fault he is now a poor fighter
