The trainings camps are always shrouded in mystery and propaganda. What are the worst ones in recent history? I guess Hatton's camp before the Pacman fight would be up there.
Froch had a bit of a bad run before fighting Kessler. His flight was cancelled 3 times, he thought the fight was off, and then only got to the country a few days before the fight, having to do a reasonably long car journey due to flight trouble and then catch up with the media, all before the fight. I guess thats a big advantage to fighting at home
Hattons had to be the worst seen on TV. But I wouldnt have wanted to be in Tysons camp before the douglas fight, I think that would be a mess
Audley Harrison v Haye......spent his entire camp running up hills looking fro bears with his axe rather than actually sparring.
I read that Mayweather Snr was still forcing Hatton to run the roads in army boots while he had massive welts on his feet.
I heard all of Leon Spinks training camps were tough. For the Ali rematch they basically had to lock him in his room, but a few times he'd sneak through the window and come back high and drunk. I read this is the Hauser Ali Autobiography like 12 years ago, so details are sketchy.
barrera's camp before the 1st pacquiao fight, there was a fire in big bear so he was only able to do 50 rounds of sparring, he normally has 250+ rounds of sparring before a fight.
