You have trouble with understanding text and links I provided? Once again; It's not dislocated hip, unless he has DDH (developmental dysplasia of the hip) http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=a00347 Dislocated hip is an EMERGENCY and "specialist" on dislocated hip is in EMERGENCY room, you dumb *****! The man himself said, apparently not in hospital, that he doesn't know is/was it dislocated in sunday morning. How does yellow papers/team/ESB posters know his condition before he does? They don't. They're running with the most biggest and heart wrenching story, like usually; and cause unnecessary worry for fans and family in the process. --Diagnosis A hip dislocation is an orthopaedic emergency. Call for help immediately. Do not try to move the injured person, but keep him or her warm with blankets. Usually, a physician can diagnose a hip dislocation simply by looking at the position of the leg. X-rays will show whether there are any additional fractures in the hip or thighbone.-- --Hip dislocations are relatively uncommon during athletic events. Injuries to small joints (eg, finger, wrist, ankle, knee) are much more common. However, serious morbidity can be associated with hip dislocations, making careful and expedient diagnosis and treatment important for the sports medicine physician. Large-force trauma (eg, motor vehicle accidents, pedestrians struck by automobiles) are the most common causes of hip dislocations. This type of injury is also associated with high-energy impact athletic events (eg, American football, rugby, water skiing, alpine skiing/snowboarding, gymnastics, running, basketball, race car driving, equestrian sports). Diagnosing and correctly treating these injuries to avoid long-term sequelae of avascular necrosis and osteoarthritis is imperative.-- http://orthoinfo.aaos.org/topic.cfm?topic=A00352 YOU CAN'T WALK, LET ALONE BOX WITH DISLOCATED HIP. --In looking at the replay of the fight, Barker didn’t show any problems with his hip until he was knocked down a second time by Sturm after getting hit with a clubbing right hand to the head. After Barker got back to his feet, he hopped on one foot and clearly was having problems with his hip. His trainer Sims said that the injury occurred in the 1st round, but Barker didn’t show any signs of being hurt until the 2nd knockdown.-- http://www.boxingnews24.com/2013/12/barkers-trainer-says-darren-may-never-box-again/ If you can't back your side with facts and links, don't bother to reply with some lame and childish dramatics, idiot! Here's the fight for ones that haven't seen it: [yt]JGHMIpW7wF4[/yt]
Thanks for the diagnosis, armchair doctor. His team have already made it clear that the hip wasn't 100% but that it was the KD that dislocated it. I don't think I will bother replying anymore - all your posts amount to is a big dollop of cynicism coated in disdain (for some reason). Basically you're suggesting Barker & co are lying. Fine, that's your opinion. We have no reason to accept that but that's your prerogative.
What do you mean? What "would of happened"....????? We (sensible people) can just go by what DID happen. Sturm mullered him! Was always going to win, as I tried to explain in advance, but Barker definitely did not help his own cause with the Kamikaze stuff...... Any version of Sturm beats any version of Barker! Hip or no hip.
Something really stinks about this defence. I'm a big fan of Barker (mainly before he started the macho crap about four fights ago) but I feel conned about Saturday. He either knew his hip was ****ed and he had a few rounds in him max or the crowd got to him. But could the crowd really have made him fight like an idiot with all his experience? And the bending double allowing Sturm to tee off on the back of his head?! Something really stinks. I feel for all the fans who went over.
Surprised the hip checkers haven't yet weighed in with their usual mantra of "Glass hips exist in boxing... It can't be denied"
Problem was his mindset. "I'm doing this for the money", "the purse id great", "the money is great", every two minutes they were going on about how good the money was, win or lose. From the bell you could see he was thinking I'm going to trade with this guy and see what happens, I have nothing to lose. They were never going to take the rematch, the intention was this last big payday. Of course the injury was unfortunate but in the big scheme of things there was only going to be one outcome. It was all about the money, if Hearn's strategy was for his man to keep the belt he would have put the ££ up for Sturm to come over to the UK, after all its was Darren who was the champ. It was suicide going over there. In effect it was a contract signed in blood, they sold the title for the ££ its as simple as that. What it boils down to is ££ regardless of the injury etc.
Barker was never the greatest middleweight we have seen but came through a hell of a lot to win a world title and it was a shame to see him lose like that. A genuine nice guy, not big headed like Froch for instance
I do like Barker and he done well ro achieve what he has but in all honesty and the more I read and think about it, I think barker went in with the injury...his hips arent great fair enough but it hasnt happened in any previous fights. I think he had a problem (bigger than usual) but the money meant more to him than anything else....fair enough but not fair on fans! Has there been any confirmation yet?
Good boxer, Great man. He realized his dream of winning a world title, good luck to him in the future.
Barker had a good idea his health was fooked that's why he cashed in big time. can't blame him at all the man's got a family to take care of.
