See Ali vs Leon Spinks 1
Size disparity between Ali and Roy is less than Ali and Fury.

I find this smartass thread hilarious. Prime Ali beating Tyson Fury isn't unlikely because we literally saw Fury struggle and get dropped against an Ali sized heavyweight. Fury wasn't in his prime but he wasn't far from it and Cunningham was far inferior to Ali in almost every department imaginable so that more than evens it out

Roy Jones Jr however beat John Ruiz (LOL). But yes because he beats John Ruiz, he beats 74 Ali.

    Smh

It doesn't matter what the size disparity is.

It's how they'd have matched up stylistically.

I'm one of Roy's biggest fans. But he wasn't beating Ali from 1974.

Ali didn't fight Spinks until the late 70's.

He was much more worn then, after the Thrilla.

Why do you keep mentioning the size disparity?

    All fights are different.

Weight-classes destroyed by facts and logic.
How can Ali who is an outboxer defeat Fury despite being so much shorter and having much less reach?
If they were the same size then Jones would spank Ali like a child.
RJJ's lack of size (weight/height/reach) makes the hypothetical matchup interesting.
So you mean to say Fury would brutally knock Ali out, just like Cunningham?

LHW Cooper dropped Ali and Doug Jones gave him all he could handle so I can definitely see Roy embarassing him.

Your posts are all over the place.

We've seen countless times over the years that even big size disparities can be overcome. But it mostly depends on how they match up stylistically.

Roy wasn't the same size and Ali, nor as powerful. Roy wouldn't have fought him aggressively. He'd have been extremely cautious like he was against Ruiz, as he was a LHW and former MW, whereas Ali was still a great HW.

You specified 1974. So Cooper and Jones aren't at all relevant. And it's highly unlikely that Roy would have fought him like Cooper and Jones did.

Ali beat Frazier in `74 who would have beat the crap out of Jones in `74, no chance at all.

li had more skill than Jones P4P, all Jones had was speed, if you make him the same weight as Ali Jones speed edge goes out of the window, nobody that Jones beat was P4P as good as Ali.

This is how Ali would knock out Jones from 1998 and he had a longer reach than Dell Valle.

Tell that to the other guy, he brought up Cunningham.
When did Ali overcome such a disparity?

Ruiz didn`t have the power of Liston, and the gap in reach between Ali`s reach and Liston`s was 6 inches, Liston had a better jab tha Hill and Ruiz, Jones never faced a jab like that. Buster Mathis was a lot heavier than Ali.
He was 6 feet 3 and weighs 295 pounds.
