Yeah, he can. The whole Manchester Ricky Hatton Boxing Casual Fan Culture thing is pretty big and lucrative. If they could tap into that, position Murray as the new fan favourite, and stage it in Manchester, they could get some serious numbers.

Notice the difference between could and would, can and will though.

I'd turn up just to see Katsidis batter him.

I think that will be the reason Katsidis will blow him away in a couple of rounds. Same as Mitchell, absolutly no experience at any sort of higher level.

i think a good fight for murray first would be mitchell, it would give his team a good idea of what they were up against, as i consider mitchell a step up for him. katsidas is a popular fighter, a very crowd pleasing style, 20k is a lot to a fight but i think they could put a decent dent in that number, if it was hyped properly.

If Murray fought Marco Antonio Barrera they would get 20,000, but I reckon 19,000 would be there to watch MAB, I don't get the impression that Murray is a massive ticket seller...:think

The entrance that MAB got v Khan was awesome, so much British respect for the Mexican Legend...:deal

i was at the mitchell fight, and a large part of the crowd were football fans they were there for the ocasion not the fight, but warren woulden,t be to bothered about that, 20k is a lot of people ,murray would have to win in ecxiting fashion over a couple of good names, then he would be ready for the katsidas fight next year.

Thats the thing, you could ask the original question a different way: "Would 17,000 fans turn up to see Katsidis?"

    No IMHO.
