Would 2004 Morales (J.Chavez fight) have beaten 2005 Raheem at 135?

Erik Morales of the Jesus Chavez fight vs the Zahir Raheem that beat Morales in 2005, at 135lbs.

People seem to think that Morales losing to Raheem is proof that Morales had somehow become a shot fighter while achieving the greatest win of his career.

Would the Morales of one year earlier have turned the tables on Zahir Raheem at the lightweight limit of 135lbs?

Hard to say really I mean its hard to find such contrasting styles. Raheem fought on the backfoot the whole fight if memory serves me right. Jesus Chavez just marches forward. Erik Morales never really fought any world class pure boxers (who does though, they are pretty rare) before, although its debatable Raheem was world class.

Yes he beats him but he looks like crap in the process. RAheem just makes for ugly fights. I dont think anyone can look good fighting him.

I was so glad to see Funeka KO him.

The guy would 'slip' to get out of the way of punches. He would literally fall down to avoid being hit. I think it was the Freitas fight where he kept doing that.

It was such a frustrating fight to watch...
