Would a 2002 Wlad vs. 2002 Lennox lewis fight come down to who landed the 1st bomb?

When i imagine this fight i see two guys comparible in size/jabs/power, and have shown vulnerable chins.. I see it as whomever land that first big left hook or over/straight right wins the fight.. agree?

I don't think so. Lewis showed in his fight with Tua that he could take a decent shot from a concussive puncher when he needed too. I think he could take a flush shot from Wladimir, on at least one occasion, whereas it would only take the one shot from Lewis.

Tuas power is different as it was coming from a cat who was 5'9 and LL saw the punches coming, and was at the end of them.. Wlad would have more "concussiveness" on the shots IMO

I think Wladimir's power is overrated. Sure, he hurt the likes of Peter and Brewster (1st fight) but he was incapable of putting them away. Lewis is more liable to finish Wladimir if he ever had him hurt, which of course, he would if he ever landed even a glancing blow.

Lewis's power was more comparable to Vitaly's, which is/was more devastating than Wlad's. Lewis also had the much better chin. He also stated he preferred to fight more agressively when faced vs. similar sized or larger opponents than himself, as he showed vs. Michael Grant. Lewis takes this. I think Vitaly is slightly the better Klit and even he couldn't beat an old version of a faded Lewis in decisive fashion, but it was a close fight.

interesting..I always thought Wlad was the one with the one punch power, while Vitaly is more clubbing

I don't think so. Both can punch, both can take a punch, neither is easy to hit... and both of them are smart fighters. I see it playing out like a chess match.

He took some punches, and that was mostly in his two stoppage defeats against B-C level fighters.
