So, come April 19th, would Cortez or anyother Golden Boy friendly referee show the same level of judgement he showed Hatton in his fight against Mayweather? Hopkins being a clinching low-blower, would you think be DQ'ed by Cortez on the showing he gave with Hatton. But do you think he would have the balls to do the same to Hopkins? In fact will any referee do anything about Hopkins style?
wont need 2 hopkins will beat calzaghe with his jail house style and accurate punching calzaghe throws alot but lands at terrible percentages
Details please? Bernie has slowed down to a crawl, and has started to look more and more like a wrestler. Its a fair question to ask too. GBP do seem to have a few friends in judging and refereeing circles.
There are several threads like this already. Sick of seeing the same **** over & over. Change the record.
I'm pretty sure that GBP will 'help' the commission to choose the 'correct' referee. The way Cortez handeled Mayweather's ankle work in the Hatton fight was truly a sad thing to see. I was disappointed in Cortez. Of course you don't want a referee to let BHop's headbutting and Joe's 'slapping behind the head' but guess what - it's a GBP event so event and it's NOT A WORLD TITLE FIGHT so I think GBP - as DLH's second home is Las Vegas WILL have the last word on the referee which can be a disadvantage for Calzaghe. All we want to see is a clean fight.
Wouldn't be the first time Hopkins has made a fuss about the referee. People need to give GBP a break I think.
Have you seen the scoring of GBP fights. Golden Boy fighters get a 3 point lead, just ask Hopkins' nephew.
I guess that's why D-Hop left the Golden Boy. atsch Yeah, I mean it's sad. Saving boxing by saving their fighter's ass (Casamayor, DHop) is an 'interesting 'thing.
