I actually learn a lot from reading hypothetical match up threads ...you might notice a flaw in a particular fighter that I don’t ....or maybe you peak my interest in a fighter

I'm pretty sure even the most average of punters will "get it".

Excellent point. We all have our favorites, or favorite styles/ Abilities ( Personally, mine are fighters that are super fast boxer-puncher types, those fighters influence my thinking in hypothetical match ups, prime example of how wrong that can be is Duran vs Leonard #1 where I was blind to other styles/Abilities. ) a web site like this with hypothetical match ups gives one a different perspective, a point of view that one may not have thought of.
And, if one is reasonable, and actually know the sport ( Some on here really don't) may actually learn or, see something you may already know but from a different knowledgeable fans view, and opinion.
Hypothetical match ups can help remove the blinders of our own bias if one is open to others insights. Only the dead can't learn .

not just great punching power, but also great body strength, which probably made him so effective in the clinches

Griffith was one of the best to lace them up someone I tend to say “would find a way” when stuck this is one of those cases.

A born athlete with a good work ethic, a gentle persona and a charitable heart his only crime was taking the wrong sex to bed a pity if he were alive today he would have been a far more revered icon.

Unfortunately he is largely forgotten by even fans of the sport and has a sad past full of grey and black spots of... less then savoury moments a product of the times.

    A personal hero of mine.
