Would a Prime Dempsey V Louis resemble Louis's first fight against Schmeling?

He told the public what it was he saw Louis doing wrong after the fight. Of course Louis wasn't going to repeat that same mistake during the second fight.

    BTW
I'm not denying that Louis took Shmeling lightly and didn't prepare fully for the first fight. I am just wondering whether that would have been enough had Shmeling not figured out that flaw.

Louis said himself that he always had trouble with swarmer's. Dempsey would not let Louis get set on his punches and be able to weather any offense Joe could muster.

Dempsey overwhelms Louis, and has fantastic movement as well. Joe would not be able to figure it out before he gets knocked cold.

    Dempsey by KO

Max also caught Louis with heavy punch just after the bell in one round and Louis never really recovered,he was fighting in a fog for most of the fight.

Fleischer describes Johnson, when asked about the way to beat Louis, stripping off his shirt and providing vivid details as to Joes flaws. Jack stated Louis stance was all wrong and the manner he which he "twisted" his upper body left him open for right hands. He continued "a smart fighter like the German with his right hand could beat Louis". Fleischer used this as one example why he called Johnson the "brainiest" of all hwt champions as he called just about perfectly the manner in which Schmeling beat Louis in 1936.

Johnson got a fair amount of stick for this because he had a heavy bet on Schmeling and later that night, celebrating in the black quarter he ran into quite a bit of negative vibes. No one said anything however when Sam Langford and Joe Jeannette loudly proclaimed how Jeffries would easily ko Johnson,"even if he was only 25% of the fighter he had been".Many black bettors took them at their word and there was considerable resentment among them after the fight and they had lost their $$$
Neither did the black population raise any objection when Langford coached Jack Sharkey to beat Harry Wills!
