Would a retired Mayweather rank above Marciano, or not?

He is already above him IMO. I have Rocky about 8th in my HW list, yet have Mayweather around the 50 mark p4p, which is higher than what I would have Rocky

 

Probably, but it has little do with the '0'. To be a true great, it really helps the cause to redeem yourself after defeat.

Hard to say.

I'm going to say yeah. Much more consistent, much more dominant and much better longevity.

He'll struggle to match the names of charles and moore but one was past prime and the other was above his prime weight.

I'm sure flea will go mad at those picking floyd so i'd like to see his rebuttal but i'm surprised how comfortable I am picking floyd here.

I think Flea actually holds a fair amount of respect for Mayweather, if a dislike for his style and fights. He's picked him to beat Arguello FFS, if I'm not mistaken.

Mayweather has spent almost half his career fighting world contenders and champions. Many of his weight class crowns are lineal (if that means anything to people), he's 19-0 in title fights.

 

I feel that he's been comfortably above Rocky since before this weird "comeback" thing. Agreed with those who said there isn't really any kind of case for Rocky here, though I'd guess they're reasonably close (as in a separation of 15 spots or so).
