No. it would hurt boxing. Do we really need 4 more champions?

Also, by creating a super heavyweight division, you split the current talent at heavyweight in half, and diminish the historical claim of heavyweight champion of the world.

    its funny
a few years back many were clamoring for the return to no jr/super divisions
personally, I dont know if a superheavy division would make for better fights or just less exciting fights

That's what I think. The Heavyweight division is legendary, it's typically the focal point of boxing.

    No.

Maybe, 175-225 is Heavy, 225+ is Super.

Or if you want keep Cruiser, but make HW 200-225 or 200-230.

No Super Hw but make a cut off of 275 for now (one way to get rid of valuev and danny williams) like they have in MMA ( I believe). Move crusier to 215 and re allign lower weights and eliminate 7lb weight differentials. cruiser at 215 should allow guys that are 6'2 to get in shape and fight at a healthy weight at cruiser rather than eating up to hw. athletes have gotten bigger (a lot more 6'4 plus guys in the past 20 years than before) so something should be done.
    cruiser (195-215); lhw (175-195) mw (160-175); ww (150-160) Lw (140-150) etc

All the money would eventually gravitate towards the bigger men and the heavies would be the new cruisers.

Or 175-225 is Heavy, and if you're bigger than that, call Vince McMahon or your local carny. :good

Eventually we'll have a Super-Duper Heavyweight division and it'll be as stupid as it sounds; 300lbs and over which will enable us view such spectacluar bouts as never imagined before. Think of classics like yearly Valuev- Butterbean trilogies, etc.etc.
