I think he would have a 50/50 chance with Spinks. Still gets KO'd by Foreman, just takes a little longer.

Best version of Cooney, wrecks any version of Michael Spinks .
Foreman? Old Foreman would be tactically smarter
and eventually wear him down for the win.
Young Foreman? See Foreman vs Lyle
for insight, a very good possibility Foreman
could walk into something from Cooney
and get put on his ass.
Also Cooney had a very educated left hand, not
just hooks, but jabs and uppercuts too.
Foreman should win, but it could be
a real tough one for him.

Are people really favoring prime Cooney over Spinks because of size ? Lol, Spinks beats any version of Cooney, it would just take a bit longer. Cooney has a better chance against that ancient version of Foreman because of how slow and measured he was

I'd have given him a decent shot with Spinks. Michael was slippery but not mobile enough to have avoided enough of prime Gerry's power shots.

40 year old Foreman still wins but he'd have been in a battle.
