Say the Top Rank - Golden Boy feud ended next year and Ruslan Provodnikov challenged Adrien Broner for his WBA Welterweight belt and the fight goes down September 2014. How would Adrien Broner's shoulder roll defense hold up against Ruslan Provodnikov's offense for 12 rounds? Would the shoulder roll defense be effective against Provodnikov's offense? Would he survive the assault for full 12 rounds and hear the final bell? How would his mind hold up under a brutal and vicious assault? How high is his pain tolerance? How well would his chin/liver/kidneys and his shoulders(he likes to roll punches with his shoulders) hold up against Provodnikov's left hooks and overhand rights?
You think Broner would fight a puncher? The same guy that jumped two weight divisions to fight Paulie? Come on man.
he'd do more than survive. he'd eat Ruslan up on the inside and outpoint him and probably score a late stoppage. featherfisted Bradley had Roach threatening to stop the fight.
Surely he would, he would dish out some amount of punishment. However its likely that Ruslan would absorb it, if he gets to the late rounds and Broner tires then anything could happen! Would fancy Broner though, should be a safe bet!
by about round 8 Broner wouldnt be able to move his arms properly and he would quit on his stool if he wasnt KTFO first. EE fighters actually like facing shoulder roll. They just tap the arms, and feint. Prov has skills to go with his power and chin, and is still improving. Cant say I care for Broner, would love to see him step in with Ruslan. Not only is Ruslan still improving, but Bradley is a much better boxer than Broner. Prov by late round stoppage.
Broner is too static and ruslan is a big guy for 147. If broner stands there like he did with paulie and just let's ruslan go at him while waiting for him to stop punching, he will get slaughtered.
Broner is no mayweather and he is going to get tagged in this fight Ruslan is hittable too, so it would be a fun fight...I have no idea who the hell would win but i will be pulling for Ruslan
im basing it on the fact that Broner is a nasty inside fighter who's super accurate and great when it comes to countering on the inside. his body and head variation is superb. also basing it on the fact that even Bradley got the better of Ruslan on the inside in the later rounds. it even looked like he hurt him to the body a few times. and bradley doesn't have the snap on his punches as broner. Ruslan is a great pressure fighter, but i don't regard him as a great inside fighter. he doesn't like fighting super close like a guy like Rios. hes more of puncher-boxer.
Broner is no Mayweather but i'm sure he he's a better overall "boxer" than alvarado. Ruslan looks pretty lost when there's movement. which is why bradley swept so many rounds. luckily for him though, he has good power and a strong chin to bail him out.
