Would AJ becoming a 3x HW champ be more impressive than one continuous reign?

It's great and all but if he beats hrgovic for another vacant title then it's not THAT great

Hurgovic would be AJ's best win for a belt (although yet again a belt that was taken off the real lineal reigning champion, the grand daddy. You cannot claim to be the man in till you beat the man)

Much better than 52 year old Wlad (who almost killed AJ) and Charles Martin.

Joshua should focus on what is available for him as best option. Hrgovic for the IBF belt is the way to go now.

Given how much advantage AJ has through his promotion and brand not really. He's basically got infinite shots at it even if he loses multiple times to the same fighter.

    No.

Being a 2x,3x,4x champion and the prestige associated with it is the silliest honor in sports. Because by definition it rewards losing. To maximize titles a fighter would ideally be .500 in title fights. If you never lose you can by definition never win the belt twice. If you don't lose twice you can't win it three times. And so on. And its one thing to artifically pad ones record its another thing to get extra credit for losing. Say what you want about the alphabet belts they don't do that.

I don't know how this honor became a prestigious thing but IMO this was a mistake. Its a long standing tradition but sometimes traditions are a mistake and this is one of those times.

Obviously a continuous reign is better all else being equal.

I prefer to prioritize best resume overall. Don't care about losses. Not too fussed on Undefeated either

AJ is a proper bum never beat a worthy reigning champion for a belt!

    Gifted gold a corrupt medal
Bought his belt off Charles Martin one of the worst champions ever
Won vacant belts off a retired OAP who should have chinned him
Then became a "two time" champion only because he got chinned off by a fat midget on 3 weeks notice

Multiple world championships mean nothing. It's like Broner has been champ what 4x? He still sucks.

It's all about opponents. Joshua's first reign started with a win over Prince Chuckles Martin. His second a win over obese rice pudding jnr.

Imo, yes. It's impressive to manage to comeback after a defeat.
