Some channel has uploaded a vid off Wilder being knocked out as an amateur for some stupid reason but it got me thinking why was AJ so much better as an amateur than Wilder? Was it because Wilder was so skinny? Would AJ have knocked Wilder out when they were both amateurs?

Who knows you get two heavies in the ring anything could happen,, but i'd say yes in the amateur's Joshua would take the bout,, But in the pro's i'd say 50/50 maybe even Wilder with the slight nod due to Joshua's stiffness he really bulked up recently!

Not that much of a difference between them. Joshua was knocked out by Nistor (a guy Usyk beat), and got battered in his loss at the 2011 world finals (against another guy Usyk beat). Both Joshua and Wilder had short amateur careers and had similar achievements.

People need to get real on that clip. Wilder was 3 years into boxing, thats such a little amount of time. When i was 3 years into boxing i got ****ed up by every kazak amateur with a duzen of fights and wilder took on one of russia best boxers with only 3 years into boxing.

If AJ was still in 2012 still beat him now. I think Joshua in his HW debut would be Wilders toughest fight , maybe second ?

I'm still amazed that Wilder has been boxing for 14 years and has zero ability other than a windmilling right.

It won every fight for him definitively until the draw with Fury.

Wilder was still fighting complete cans on his 30th and 32nd fights, and that was because he needed to be moved slowly because of his lack of boxing ability.

AJ fought the same guy Wilder fought in his 32nd fight in his 11th fight (Gavern). He won the IBF title in his 16th fight. He fought Wlad in his 19th fight, someone Wilder was ducking for years before.

The two are not in the same league.

If AJ was allowed to fight Ortiz he would destroy him in under 4-5 rounds and it would be one sided. Wilder went life and death with Ortiz and almost lost only getting the stoppage in the 11th.

No Joshua wouldn't of beaten Wilder as an amateur they didn't even fight in the same division. Joshua was always a super heavyweight while Wilder competed at heavyweight.

Had they somehow fought I suspect Joshua would of gotten a bye into the next round as Wilder fails to show up for the fight.

No way, AJ in the olympics would have been completely outboxed by Fury and wouldn`t have caught him the way Wilder did as a pro, that`s a silly claim, AJ is far better now than when he was in the Olmpics, McCracken has really improved him the same way Steward imprioved Lewis.
