He just beats up old guys/fringecontenders in Eddie's back garden with everything stacked in his favour. I burst out laughing when AJ fans start listing the usual list of puddings which goes like Whyte, ancient Povetkin, Ancient Wlad, Ancient Pulev who wasn't anything special in his prime anyway, paint dry Parker, fringe contender Takam, Charles "I walk this Earth like a bum" Martin... How can anyone spit out that list of names without bursting out laughing is beyond me. He is literally beating up 40 year old shot guys who Wlad beat 5 years before him and some fringe contenders in Eddie's back garden. Run AJ though the gauntlet of Hunter, Hrgovic, Ruiz (if he manages to come in fit), Wilder, Fury, Usyk etc and he loses half of those fights if not even all. He already got completely beat up by Ruiz who wasn't as fit as he could be.

People like to spit bull that this is the worst heavyweight era on record. No, K2 era was. This era would be one of the strongest if the best fought the best. Instead AJ beats up old shot Wlad's leftovers and fringe contenders in Eddie's back garden and is heralded as the man with "the deepest resume" and the top dog.

We've clearly got differing opinions on what's considered a out and out 'hypejob" in boxing terms

Firstly, I've always stated as my opinion that AJ is not the fighter he was mentally prior to the first Ruiz fight.

I think if and when he fights Fury, AJ loses by TKO or corner stoppage in the later rounds. I stand by that.

I agree with you and have said it many times, that because AJ is not as mentally strong now IMO, that I can see him losing to tier two fighters in a tough fight.

Apart from AJ not having fought Wilder/Fury/Usyk as of yet, his resume is decent enough.

So again I'll state objectively that AJ is not a complete and utter "Hypejob", but has been hyped to "some" degree. Just as Fury has.

A lot of truth here. I also think Joe Joyce gives AJ serious problems but if all the top guys fought each other I strongly suspect AJ would still be top 5, if not top 3.

Run Fury and Wilder through the gauntlet of top 10s as well, because if we're trying to make this a race of who's clearing out the division, Aj is winning.

Fury beat old Klitschko, Wilder, and Chisora.

Wilder beat Ortiz and Stiverne (Stiverne is trash)

And Aj has beaten old Klitschko, Povetkin, Whyte, Parker, and Pulev, you can also add Takam if you want.

Aj is hyped but you're telling me Wilder and Fury aren't either ?

Ohh, tournament format, like if top 16 boxers had fought with 1/8. 1/4. 1/2 and final might be really cool.
