It's well known that prime Ali was only as good as he was, which is a serious limitation for a fighter to have. If the best version of Muhammad Ali had improved, would he be better?

    The thread seems self explanatory.

It's essential that you vote in the poll. It is deeply important to the question at hand.

A better Ali wouldn't have been dropped by Tire Iron Jones in sparring.

One good tautology deserves another.

I have my doubts that I'm actually Boxed Ears, but it's possible that I'm another person by that name.

Ali needed to lose to Tire Iron Jones to develop into the man and fighter he ultimately became.

I agree with you that many of the threads on this forum ask imponderable questions that make no sense in the real world.

My question is: Would Ali have been better if he'd been better than better, or bitter and better, or badder than better, or bigger and better, or even better than butter?

Well, I have no doubts you're @Boxed Ears...(Certainly not after this thread, unless he's carrying a satirical contagion that's infected you - I don't want to catch whatever this brain bug is. I'm crazy and weird enough already without it...)
