Ali wasn't intimidated enough to not get in the ring with Liston and Foreman. Tyson would be a piece of cake.
That's no jive l'm going to beat him in five. My jab will be like a piston just like it was against Liston. You can't hit what you can't see if he gives me any lip l'll end it in three.
I don't think it was possible to intimidate Tyson or play mind games with him with trash talk. He was just too crazy and would just shout some incoherent crazy stuff back like in that "I'll **** you till you love me ***got" video. It would be like the build up to the McGregor and Nate Diaz MMA fight where Nate Diaz simply didn't give a **** about McGregor's trash talk and just repeated one line comments like "**** you", "you're on steroids", "who do you train with?"...
I think most people who know about Mike Tyson know that prime Mike Tyson (the version that was actually an excellent and devastating FIGHTER) was fairly polite and was surrounded by old white people, and even coached by them in what to say and how to say it. By the time he started acting like a "bad n!gger" so much, he was becoming a far inferior fighter. The SCARY, INTIMIDATING Tyson was scary and intimidating because of what he did inside the ring. Outside the ring he came across as an almost inaudible quiet lisping child. That's the Tyson we remember as prime. No decent fighter was intimdated by him acting like a classless jerk outside the ring. Even mediocre fighters realized it was to compensate for his obviously declined skills. I think people need to give Tyson more credit for his intimadation through his ability in his prime. And forget about the caricature he became in later years. Besides, Mike Tyson's bad man act was always a bit childish and contrived, unlike, say, Sonny Liston. Bit like Tupac Shakur that you mention. An effeminate drama and dance school student, people still believe he was some sort of genuine gangster. And Ali used the "black talk" stuff well against Joe Frazier, who was true working class black man from the cotton fields and the ghetto.
Destroyed by Robin Givens on the Barbara Walters show. And didn't say jack about it. And people think he's going to hold his own against Muhammad Ali verbally. Please.
Tyson fans on this forum can probably convince themselves Tyson was TALLER and BETTER LOOKING than Muhammad Ali too. So accustomed to giving him attributes he never had. .... and, oh yeah, hello Sangria. :hi: (I'll be out of this thread before you arrive sniffing around my sh!t, but thanks for coming and showing your loyalty once more)
I may be wrong, but if memory serves me correctly, werent he doped up to his eye***** on some kind of medication? However I agree that hes not going to hold his own against Ali verbally. Complete mis-match in that regard.
Ali is 100% proven against ATG's and other assorted fearsome opponents. For mine the majority of Tyson's prime opponents were pretty nervous. I reckon Ali's complete lack of fear and respect would rattle Tyson somewhat.
I think PRIME Tyson wouldn't be anywhere near as trash talking as he was after prison when he basically lost his dignity. If he did the "F you til you love me" stuff Ali would have laughed all the way to the bank cause Tyson lost his cool, his mind. That Dubblechin post is hilarious though Personally I think it would have went something like the Foreman fight. Ali would have to acknowledge Tyson as the destroyer and realise he would have a hard time intimidating this wrecking ball. He went fairly easy on Foreman really just doing his mummy stuff and no class routine. I think Tyson would have done a similar thing to Foreman, foreboding silence with the odd intimidating comment to slow Ali had done noting to intimidate him, especially if he trashed Ali's previous opponents. I think he would call Tyson predicable and he would catch the windmill coming in, calling him The Boar or something like that. Tyson would sit there with that knowing look appearing bored, head in hands indifferent, which would be pretty intimidating in itself. Its fun to think about.
Yes, Tyson was on medication for manic depression. Tyson was always a mentally insecure person with a very strong identity crisis, and he doesn't claim otherwise. I'm happy for him that he seems to have come through that and got to grips with life.
Ali would humiliate tyson cause his voice of *****.probably would call him a big boy with mind of child
